Another Prayer of Reconciliation according to St. John (to the Father)

The priest stands in front of the altar facing the east, asks the deacon to tell the congregation to start the prayer and says

Pray.

Deacon

Stand up for prayer.

Epi `proceuxh `ctaqhte.

للصلاة قفوا.

The priest looks towards the congregation and says

Peace be with all.

Irhnh paci.

السلام للكل.

Congregation

And with your spirit.

Ke tw `pneuma ti cou.

ولروحك أيضا.

Priest

O God of love and Giver of oneness of heart, who grants the true oneness of mind towards virtue.

V; `nte ;`agaph> ouo\ `vref; `nte ;met\ht `nouwt> ouo\ `vrefca\ni `nte ;`gnwmh `nouwt `nte ;`areth.

يا إله المحبة ومعطى وحدانية القلب. ورازق الرأى الواحد الذى للفضيلة.

Who has also granted unto us the new commandment, through Thine Only Begotten Son.

Vh`etafer`\mot nan `n;entolh `mberi> \iten pekmonogenhc `n}hri.

الذى أنعم لنا بالوصية الجديدة بإبنك الوحيد.

That we love one another as Thou hast loved us we the unworthy and astray.

|ina `ntenmenre nen`erhou> kata `vrh; `nqok `etakmenriten> `anon 'a niat`m`p]a ouo\ etcwrem.

لكى نحب بعضنا بعضاً كما أحببتنا أنت. نحن غير المستحقين الضالين.

And Thou gavest up Thy beloved Son for our life and our salvation.

Ouo\ ak; `mpekmenrit `n}hri `e`\rhi `ejen penwn' nem penoujai.

وبذلت إبنك الحبيب عن حياتنا وخلاصنا.

We ask Thee, O our Lord, grant us, Thy servants, throughout our lifetime on earth, and more especially at present.

Ten;\o `erok pennhb> `ari`\mot nan 'a nek`ebiaik> `nchou niben `nte penwn' et \ijen pika\i `n\ou`o de mallon ;nou.

نسألك يا سيدنا أنعم لنا نحن عبيدك فى كل زمان حياتنا التى على الأرض. ولا سيما بالأكثر الآن.

Thoughts that do not recall to memory of former evil deeds and a conscience without hypocrisy, but grant us faithful thoughts and a heart full of brotherly love.

بحاسة غير ذاكرة الشرور الأولى. ونية بغير رياء. وأفكار صادقة. وقلب محب للأخوة.

So we may flee from any likeness to Judas the traitor as we give one another a spiritual kiss.

صلوا من أجل السلام الكامل والمحبة والقبلات الطاهرة الرسولية.

Lord have mercy.

يا رب ارحم.

Priest

And as we agree together in purity like Thine Holy disciples and apostles we become cleansed and sanctified through Thine Holy Spirit.

وكمثل تلاميذك القديسين والرسل إذ صالحنا بعضُنا بعضاً. بالطهارة نتطهَّر ونتقدَّس من قبل وساطة روحك القدُّوس.

By the grace, compassion and love of mankind, of Thine Only-Begotten Son, our Lord, God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

بالنعمة والرأفات ومحبة البشر اللواتى لابنك الوحيد الجنس ربنا وإلهنا ومخلصنا يسوع المسيح.

Through Whom the glory, the honour, the dominion, and the adoration are due to Thee, with Him, and the Holy Spirit, the Life-Giver, Who is of One Essence with Thee.

Greet one another with a holy kiss.

قبلوا بعضكم بعضاً بقبلة مقدسة.

After any of the previous Prayers of Reconciliation, the congregation says

Emmanuel our God, is now in our midst, with the glory of His Father, and the Holy Spirit.

Emmanouhl Pennou;> 'en tenmh; ;nou> 'en `p`wou `nte pefiwt> nem Pi`pneuma `eqouab.

عمانوئيل إلهنا فى وسطنا الآن بمجد أبيه والروح القدس.

May He bless us all, and purify our hearts, and heal the sicknesses of our souls and bodies.

ليباركنا كلنا ويطهر قلوبنا ويشفى أمراض نفوسنا وأجسادنا.

We worship Thee, O Christ, with Thy good Father and the Holy Spirit, for Thou hast come and saved us.

نسجد لك أيها المسيح مع أبيك الصالح والروح القدس لأنك أتيت وخلصتنا.

The priest and the deacon remove the prospherin from over the paten and chalice. The deacon holds the cross and says

Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Yes, Lord, Who is Jesus Christ the Son of God, hear us and have mercy on us.

يارب ارحم. يارب ارحم. يارب ارحم. نعم يارب الذى هو يسوع المسيح ابن الله الحى اسمعنا وإرحمنا.

The priest takes the corporal that is on the chalice in his left hand and the one on the paten in his right hand. The priest holds the corporal throughout the rest of the service except when holding the bread and the grape wine.
