Absolution to the Son

The priest looks towards the west and says

Master, Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-Begotten Son and Logos of God the Father, Who has broken every bond of our sins through His saving, life-giving sufferings.

~Vnhb ~P_ Ihcouc Px/c/> pimonogenhc `n}hri ouo\ `nlogoc `nte V; ~Viwt> vh`etafcwlp `n`cnau\ niben `nte nennobi> \iten nef`mkau\ `noujai `nreftan'o.

أيها السيد الرب يسوع المسيح الإبن الوحيد وكلمة الله الآب. الذى قطع كل رباطات خطايانا من قبل آلامه المخلصة المحيية.

Who breathed into the face of His holy Disciples and saintly Apostles, and said to them:

Vh`etafnifi `e'oun 'en `p\o `nnef`agioc `mmaqhthc> ouo\ `n`apoctoloc `eqouab `eafjoc nwou.

الذى نفخ فى وجه تلاميذه القديسين ورسله الأطهار، وقال لهم:

“Receive ye the Holy Spirit. Whose sins ye will remit, they are remitted to them, and those which ye will retain, they shall be retained.”

Je si nwten `noup/n/a/ efouab> nh`etetennaxa nounobi nwou `ebol cexh nwou `ebol> ouo\ nh`etetenna`amoni `mmwou cena`amoni `mmwou.

اقبلوا الروح القدس، من غفرتم لهم خطاياهم غفرت ومن أمسكتموها عليهم أمسكت.

Thou also now, our Master, through Thine holy Apostles, hast given grace to those who for a time laboured in the priesthood in Thine Holy Church, to forgive sin upon the earth, and to bind and to loose every bond of iniquity.

Now, also, we ask and entreat Thy Goodness, Lover of mankind, for Thy servants

The priest raises the bodikin high up and says

The Holies are for the holy.

The congregation bows down to the ground in fear and trembling asking for the forgiveness of the Lord. The priest takes the bodikin with the tip of his fingers and signs the cross on the blood in the chalice. Then he slightly dips the bodikin into the blood and raises it. Then he signs the sign of the cross on the entire body with the bodikin. Then he takes the bodikin back near the chalice and signs the sign of the cross on top of the blood. Finally, he slowly immerses the bodikin into the blood face down and leaves it in the chalice. The priest make all this while his left hand is held under the bodikin to catch any drop of the precious blood falling from it. Meanwhile, the priest says

Blessed be the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, the sanctification of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
