Prayer of the Incense

The priest stands in front of the sanctuary facing the east while holding the censer, asks the deacon to start the prayer and says

Stand up for prayer.

للصلاة قفوا.

The priest looks towards the congregation and says

Peace be with all.

Irhnh paci.

السلام للكل.

Deacon

And with your spirit.

Ke tw `pneuma ti cou.

ولروحك أيضا.

In the Vespers Incense, the priest says inaudibly

O Christ our God the Great, feared and true, the Only-Begotten Son and Logos of God the Father.

Pi`xrictoc Pennou; pini]; etoi `n\o; ouo\ `n`alhqinoc pimonogenhc `n}hri> ouo\ `nlogoc `nte V; ~Viwt.

أيها المسيح إلهنا العظيم المخوف الحقيقى الإبن الوحيد وكلمة الله الآب.

Poured fragrance is Thine Holy Name, and in every place brought incense to Thine Holy Name and a pure offering.

Oucojen efvhn `ebol pe pekran `eqouab> ouo\ 'en mai niben ce`ini `nou`cqoinoufi> `e`\rhi `epekran `eqouab> nem ouquci`a ectoubhout.

طيب مسكوب هو اسمك القدوس، وفى كل مكان يقدم بخور لاسمك القدوس صعيدة طاهرة.

صلوا من أجل ذبيحتنا والذين قدموها.

Priest

We ask Thee, our Lord, accept unto Thee our prayers. And may our prayers rise before Thee as incense..

نسألك يا سيدنا اقبل إليك طلبتنا، ولتستقم أمامك صلاتنا مثل رفع بخور.

The raising of our hands as an evening sacrifice.

رفع أيدينا ذبيحة مسائية.

For Thou art the true evening sacrifice, Who offered Thyself for our sins on the honored cross, according to the will of Thy Good Father.

لأنك أنت هو ذبيحة المساء الحقيقية الذى أصعدت ذاتك من أجل خطايانا على الصليب المكرم كإرادة أبيك الصالح.

This, with Whom Thou art blessed, with Him and the Holy Spirit the Life-Giver, Who is of one essence with Thee.

هذا الذى أنت مبارك معه ومع الروح القدس المحيى المساوى لك.

O God, Who has received unto Himself the gifts of Abel the righteous, the sacrifice of Noah and Abraham and the incense of Aaron and Zechariah.

يا الله الذى قبل إليه قرابين هابيل الصديق وذبيحة نوح وإبراهيم وبخور هرون وزكريا.

Receive unto Thyself this incense from our hands, us sinners, as a svor of incense unto the forgiveness of our sins with the rest of Thy people.
