Prayer of the Bread Offering
While the congregation says “Saved, Amen…,” the priest says the prayer of the bread offering inaudibly
Master, Lord Jesus Christ, the co-eternal Logos of the unblemished Father who is of one essence with him and the Holy Spirit. | ~Vnhb ~P_ Ih/c/ Px/c/> pi`]vhr `nailioc> ouo\ `nlogoc `nte piatqwleb ~Viwt> `n`omooucioc nemaf nem Pi`pneuma `eqouab.
For Thou art the living bread which came down from heaven. | ~Nqok gar pe piwik eton' `etaf`i `epecht `ebol'en `tve. |
And Thou did aforetime make Thyself a Lamb without spot, for the life of the world. | Ouo\ aker]orp `nxak `nou\ihb `natasni> `e`\rhi `ejen `pwn' `pikocmoc.
We ask and entreat Thy Goodness, O Lover of mankind. | Tne;\o ouo\ tentwb\ `ntemet`agaqoc pimairwmi. |
The priest points with his hand to the bread set before him on the paten and says
Show Thy face upon this bread. | Ouwn\ `mpek\o `e`\rhi `ejen paiwik vai. |
The priest points to the grape wine set before him in the chalice and says
And upon this cup. | Nem `ejen pai `avot vai. |
Then he continues | |||
Which we have set upon. | Nai `etanxau `e`'rhi `ejen. |
The priest points to the altar and says
This, Thy priestly table. | Tai`trapeza `nieratikh `ntak qai. |
The priest signs the bread and the grape wine together with the sign of the cross three times. In the first time, he says
Bless them. | Cmou `erwou. |
In the second time, he says
Sanctify them. | Ari`agi`a zin `mmwou. |
In the third time, he says
Purify them and change them. | Matoubwou ouo\ ouoqbou. |
The priest points with his hand to the bread and says
In order that this bread, on the one hand may become indeed Thine holy Body. | |ina paiwik men `ntef]wpi `nqof pe pekcwm `eqouab. |
The priest points with his hand to the grape wine in the chalice and says
And the mixture on the other hand, which is in this cup, indeed Thy precious Blood.
The priest continues | |||
And may they become for all of us a partaking, healing, and salvation of our souls, our bodies and our spirits. | Ouo\ marou]wpi nan throu eumetanalumyic nem outalso nem oucwthri`a> `nte nenyuxh nem nencwma nem nen`pneuma.
For Thou art our God and glory is due unto Thee with Thy Good Father and the Holy Spirit, the Life-Giver who is of one essence with Thee. | Je `nqok gar pe Pennou;> `ere pi`wou er`prepi nak> nem Pekiwt `n`agaqoc nem Pi`pneuma `eqouab `nreftan'o ouo\ `n`omooucioc nemak.
Now, and at all times, and unto the age of all ages. Amen. | :nou nem `nchou niben nem ]a `ene\ `nte ni`ene\ throu> `amhn. | |
