After the Praises and recitation of the Psalms of the Prime hour, the priest greets the other priests, bows before the sanctuary, opens the curtains, stands before the entrance of the sanctuary and says

Have mercy on us, O God, the Father, the Pantocrator. All-Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, God of the powers, be with us, for there is not a helper in our afflictions and our needs, save Thee.

The priest and the congregation say

Make us worthy to pray thankfully:

إجعلنا مستحقين أن نقول بشكر:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is on heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. In Christ Jesus, our Lord.

أبانا الذى فى السموات، ليتقدس إسمك، ليأت ملكوتك. لتكن مشيئتك كما فى السماء كذلك على الأرض. خبزنا الذى للغد أعطنا اليوم واغفر لنا ذنوبنا كما نغفر نحن أيضا للمذنبين إلينا. ولا تدخلنا فى تجربة لكن نجنا من الشرير بالمسيح يسوع ربنا.

The priest bows before the altar and says

We worship Thee, O Christ, with Thy Good Father and the Holy Spirit, for Thou hast (come) and saved us.

نسجد لك أيها المسيح مع أبيك الصالح والروح القدس لأنك (أتيت) وخلصتنا.

The priest bows before the other priests and the deacons, and says

Bless me. Lo, the metanoia. Forgive me.

باركوا على. ها المطانية. اغفروا لى.

The priest greets the other priests and asks them the permission and cooperation in his prayers and their supplications on his and their behalf, and on behalf of the congregation. Greeting eachother is a sign that they are pure in heart towards eachother. Then the priest stands before the entrance of the sanctuary raising his hands while the deacon stands behind him at the right side. The deacon must hold the cross at every time he asks the congregation to pray.
