Prayer of Reconciliation for the Son by Patriarch Severus

The priest may choose to say the following paryer instead of the previous one. The priest stands in front of the sanctuary facing the east while holding the censer, asks the deacon to start the prayer and says

Pray.

Deacon

Stand up for prayer.

للصلاة قفوا.

The priest looks towards the congregation and says

Peace be with all.

Irhnh paci.

السلام للكل.

Deacon

And with your spirit.

Ke tw `pneuma ti cou.

ولروحك أيضا.

Priest

O Christ, our God, the fearsome and incomprehensible power of God the Father.

Pixrictoc Pennou; ;jom etoi `n\o; ouo\ `nat`]ka; `eroc `nte V; ~Viwt.

أيها المسيح إلهنا القوة المخوفة غير المفهومة التى لله الآب.

O Thou, Who sits upon the flaming throne of the Cherubim and served by the fiery powers and Thou art a consuming fire, being God.

Vhet\emci ca`p]wi `mpi`qronoc etoi `n]a\ `nte nixeroubim> ouo\ etou]wm]i `mmof \iten nijom etoi `n`xrwm> ouo\ ekoi `n`xrwm efouwm \wc nou;.

الجالس فوق العرش الملتهب الشاروبيمى والمخدوم من القوات النارية. وأنت نار آكلة كإله.

Because of the ineffable act of coming down and Thy love to mankind, Thou did not burn the deceitful betrayer when he approached Thee.

من أجل تنازلك غير الموصوف ومحبتك للبشر لم تحرق الدافع الغاش عندما دنا منك.

But Thou greetedst him with a kiss of friendship, drawing him to repentance and the comprehension of h is audacity.

بل قبّلته قبلة المصاحبة. جاذباً إياه إلى التوبة ومعرفة جسارته.

Make us also worth, O our Master, in this fearful hour, being, withou any divided heart, and the rest of the evils.

إجعلنا مستحقين نحن أيضاً يا سيدنا فى هذه الساعة المخوف بفكر واحد بغير شئ من ذوات القلبين وبقية البشر.

That we may greet one another with a holy kiss.

أن نقبل لعضنا بعضاً بقبلة مقدسة.

And do not condemn us, if we are not clean with perfectness, and not up to the satisfaction of Thy Goodness, from the filth of sin and deceit and the remebrance of evil, which brings forth death.

ولا تطرحنا فى الحكم. وإن كنا غير أنقياء بالكمال وكمثل ما يرضى صلاحك من حمأة الخطية والخبث وتذكار الشر القاتل.

But Thou, in Thy ineffable and undeclarable compassionm knowing the weakness and drowning of our creation.

لكن أنت بتعطفك غير الموصوف ولا مُخبر به إذ تعرف ضعف وإنغماس جبلتنا إلى أسفل.

Wipe out all the defilements of our transgressions.

إمح كل أدناس سيئاتنا.

That this mystery, which is Thy divinity, may not be a judgment against us or a falling into condemnation.

لكى لا يكون لنا دينونة ولا وقوعاً فى دينونة هذا السر الذى للاهوتك.

For Thou art the One Who is able to lift all sin and remove the injustices and the lawlessness of wretched men. Tou are the purity of the whole world.

And Thou art the One to Whom belongs the glorification from everyone in one voice.

وأنت الذى ينبغى لك التمجيد بصوت واحد من كل أحد.

After any of the previous Prayers of Reconciliation, the congregation says

Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, Saint Mary, O Lord, grant us the forgiveness of our sins.

بشفاعات والدة الإله القديسة مريم يارب أنعم علينا بمغفرة خطايانا.

We worship Thee, O Christ, with Thy good Father and the Holy Spirit, for Thou hast come and saved us.

Tenouw]t `mmok `w Pi`xrictoc nem Pekiwt `n`agaqoc nem Pi`pneuma `eqouab> je ak`i akcw; `mmon.

نسجد لك أيها المسيح مع أبيك الصالح والروح القدس لأنك أتيت وخلصتنا.

The priest and the deacon remove the prospherin from over the paten and chalice. The deacon holds the cross and says

Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Yes, Lord, Who is Jesus Christ the Son of God, hear us and have mercy on us.

يارب ارحم. يارب ارحم. يارب ارحم. نعم يارب الذى هو يسوع المسيح ابن الله الحى اسمعنا وإرحمنا.

The priest takes the corporal that is on the chalice in his left hand and the one on the paten in his right hand. The priest holds the corporal throughout the rest of the service except when holding the bread and the grape wine.
