اسمعوا لى فتأكلوا الخيرات ولتتلذذ نفوسكم بالصالحات.

Give heed with your ears, and follow my ways: hearken to me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David. Behold I have made him a testimony among the Gentiles, a prince and commander to the Gentiles. Nations which know thee not, shall call upon thee, and peoples which are not acquainted with thee, shall flee to thee for refuge, for the sake of the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified thee.

أميلوا آذانكم واسلكوا في طرقى أطيعوني فتحيا نفوسكم بالخيرات أقرر معكم عهدا أبديا وأمنحكم مكرمات داود الصادقة هوذا قد جعلته شاهداً للأمم ورئيسا وموصيا للشعوب. ها الأمم التي لا تعرفك تطلبك والشعوب التي لم تفهمك تلتجئ إليك من أجل أن الهك قدوس اسرائيل لأنه قد مجدك.

Seek ye the Lord, and when ye find him, call upon him; and when he shall draw nigh to you, let the ungodly leave his ways, and the transgressor his counsels: and let him return to the Lord, and he shall find mercy; for he shall abundantly pardon your sins. For my counsels are not as your counsels, nor are my ways as your ways, saith the Lord. But as the heaven is distant from the earth, so is my way distant from your ways, and your thoughts from my mind. For as rain shall come down, or snow, from heaven, and shall not return until it have saturated the earth, and it bring forth, and bud, and give seed to the sower, and bread for food: so shall my word be, whatever shall proceed out of my mouth, it shall by no means turn back, until all the things which I willed shall have been accomplished; and I will make thy ways prosperous, and will effect my commands. اطلبوا الله وإذا ما وجدتموه اضرعوا إليه فيقترب منكم في الساعة وليترك المنافق طرقه والرجل المخالف أفكاره وليأت إلى الرب فيرحمه وإلى إلهنا فإنه يكثر الغفران فإنه يغفر خطاياكم الكثيرة فإن أفكارى ليست أفكاركم ولا طرقى تشبه طرقكم يقول الرب، لأنه كما علت السموات عن الأرض هكذا علت طرقى عن طرقكم وأفكارى عن أفكاركم لأنه كما ينزل الندة والمطر من السماء ولا يرجعان حتى يرويان الأرض فتنتج وتنبت وتعطى زرعاً للزارع وخبزا للآكل هكذا يكون الكلام الذي يخرج من فمى لا يرجع حتى يكمل كل كلام نطقت به، وسأقوم طرقى وأوامرى وأما أنتم فتأتون بفرح وتقبلون بسرور وتقفز الجبال والآكام والتلال أمامكم ترنما وكل اشجار الحقل تصفق بأغضانها عوضا عن الشوك ينبت سرو. وعوضا عن القريس يصعد آس ويكون للرب اسما علامة أبدية لا تنقطع.

قد حان وقت العيد أيها الإخوة الأحباء، وهو وقتنا الحاضر هذا فإفرحوا فيه كل حين أيها الفرحون بالرب كما هو مكتوب وهو الآن يشير إلى كل أحد بواسطة من أرسله ليكرز به قائلاً يا يهوذا أصنع إعيادك وأوف نذورك، وقدم للرب ثمرة اعمالك كل سنة بنية طاهرة حسب ما أوصاك بها الرب. فكما أنه بآلات الفلاح تصعد ثمرات السنة فلنصعد ثمرة أعمالنا في كل سنة للرب كما أوصانا فلنثمر ثمراً مضاعفا إذ نشرب من يبنوع الحياة بثبوتنا في الرب كثبوت الأغصان في الكرمة إذ فلنسع إلى قدام ولا نخاف الذي قال احفظ الشهر الجديد لتصنع فيه فصح الرب إلهك، لأن فصح الرب ليس هو لإنسان بل للرب ومعنى ذلك أننا نترك عنا الأعمال القديمة ونتجدد بأعمال جديدة هذا الأمر الذي لما لم يتأمل فيه اليهود صاروا بلا عيد مع أنه قد قيل تصنع الفصح للرب إلهك فيعبر عنك شر المهلك. هذا وقد تحققنا أن هذه الوصية ليست بوصية بسيطة. بل هي مثال عمل كامل مختص بالله لأن العمل بالقول لا تزن ولا تسرق لا تشهد بالزور مع باقى الوصايا، هو لنا حصن منيع تحتمى فيه النفس فتعتبر بالسيرة المستقيمة وهو إكليل الانتصار للدعوة السماوية.

قد كتب إليكم في الرسالة أن لا تخالطوا الزناة. ولست أعنى زناة هذا العالم أو الغاصبين. أو الخاطفين. أو عباد الآوثان. ولو عنيت هؤلاء لكنتم إذا مستحقين ان تخرجوا من هذا العالم والآن كتب إليكم إن لا تخالطوهم. إن كان أحد يسمى زانيا أو غاصبا أو عابد وثن أو شتاما أو سيكرا أو خاطفا. فمثل هذا لا تخالطوه ولا تؤاكلوه. فإنه ماذا يعنيني أن أدين الذين من الخارج. دينوا أنتم الذين من الداخل، وأما الذين من الخارج فالله يدينهم فإعزلوا الخبيث من بينكم.

Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

وفي الغد بعد الجمعة اجتمع رؤساء الكهنة والفريسيون إلى بيلاطس قائلين: يا سيد قد تذكرنا أن ذلك المضل قال منذ كان حياً إنى بعد ثلاثة أيام أقوم، فمر بضبط القبر إلى اليوم الثالث لئلا يأتى تلاميذه ليلاً ويسرقوه، ويقولوا للشعب إنه قد قام من الأموات، فتكون الضلالة الأخيرة أشر علينا من الأولى. فقال لهم بيلاطس: عندكم حراس، فإذهبوا واضبطوه كما تعرفون. فمضوا وضبطوا القبر وختموه مع الحراس.

والمجد لله دائماً.

صلبوا مخلصنا على خشبة الصليب وصلبوا معه لصين واحداً عن يمينه وأخر عن يساره والمسيح في وسطهما يغفر الخطايا.

وكتب بيلاطس لوحاً على الصليب فوق رأس مخلصنا وكل من عبر يقرأ المكتوب أن هذا هو يسوع ملك اليهود. واليهود المخالفون قالوا للوالي لا تكتب هكذا أنه ملك اليهود بل أكتب أنت أن هذا قال أنا يسوع ملك اليهود. فكلم بيلاطس اليهود المخالفين قائلاً ما كتب قد كتب وكمل الأمر. كتب بالعبرانية وكتب بالرومية وكتب باليونانية أنه ملك اليهود.

ومن وقت الساعة السادسة إلى وقت الساعة التاسعة صارت ظلمة على الأرض كلها. الشمس اظلمت والقمر صار دماً والكواكب ظهرت في وسط النهار واللص اليمين صرخ بصوت: اذكرني يا رب متى جئت في ملكوتك. فكلمه مخلصنا أنك اليوم تكون معي في ملكوتي.

صارت الظلمة في المسكونة من أجل ملك البرية معلق على الصليب صرخ نحو أبيه بصوت عظيم وأسلم الروح في يديه.

جاء يوسف الرامي ونيقوديموس الأرخنان الأجلان جابا بخوراً وصبراً وجعلاهما على جسد الوحيد. دخل يوسف الرامي إلى بيلاطس وسأله قائلا: أعطنى جسد ربي يسوع لكي أدفنه لتدركني رحمته. كفنوا مخلصنا بلفائف نقية ووجهه لفوه بمنديل افاضوا طيباً على رأسه ووضعوه في قبر خارج المدينة.

قام من الأموات في اليوم الثالث وخلص العالم من خطاياهم.

Because of Thy mercy we worship Thee, crying and saying, Thour art blessed, O my Lord Jesus, for Thou [wast] crucified and saved us.

من أجل هذا نمجده صارخين قائلين: مبارك يا ربي يسوع لأنك صُلِبتَ وخلَّصتنا.

The priest continues with the three short litanies followed by "Our Father ..." and the three absolutions. Then the congregations says

O Lord, O Lord, O Lord, Thou hast become like those who are dead, and the Jews cast Thee in a tomb and sealed it. They guarded the tomb thus Thou hast saved our souls.

يا رب يا رب يا رب أن كنت صرت مثل الأموات واليهود طرحوك في قبر وبختم ختموا عليك حتى يحرسوا المقبرة لكي تخلص نفوسنا.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, Both now and ever and unto the age of ages. Amen.

Then the priests says the blessing and proceeds with the third hour.
