ALEPH. I am the man that sees poverty, through the rod of his wrath upon me. He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, and not into light. Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day. He has made old my flesh and my skin; he has broken my bones.

BETH. He has built against me, and compassed my head, and brought travail upon me. He has set me in dark places, as them that have long been dead. He has builded against me, and I cannot come forth: he has made my brazen chain heavy.

(٢) أبلي لحمي وجلدني وسحق عظامي. أحاط بي ونكس رأسي،،أذلني وأجلسني في مواضع مظلمة، مثل الموتي منذ القدم.

GIMEL. Yea, though I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.

(٣) سيج علي حتي لا أخرج، ضاعف ربطي ووثق سلسلتي، أدعوه فلم يستجب لي، وأصرخ إليه فلم يسر وصد صلاتي / سيج سبلي وأغلق طرقي المسكونة.

DALETH. He has built up my ways, he has hedged my paths; he has troubled me, as a she-bear lying in wait: he is to me as a lion in secret places. He pursued me after I departed, and brought me to a stand: he has utterly ruined me.

(٤) صار لي كدب كامن وأسد في موضع مختفي، طاردني وصرعني وتركني هالكاً، أوتر قوسه وأقامني هدفاً ليلقي في سهامه.

HE. He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. I became a laughing-stock to all my people; and their song all the day.

(٥) أدخل في كليتي نبال جعبته، صرت ضحكة لكل شعبي واغنية لهم النهار كله جرعني الحنضل،،أسكرني من العلقم.

VAU. He has filled me with bitterness, he has drenched me with gall. And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, he has fed me with ashes. He has also removed my soul from peace: I forgot prosperity. Therefore my success has perished, and my hope from the Lord.

(٦) هشم بالحصي أسناني وأطعمني الرماد، وأبعد نفسي عن السلام، ونسيت خيراتي، وباد أقنومي ( + ) وردائي من الرب.

ZAIN. I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered; and my soul shall meditate with me. This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure.

(٧) أذكر بؤسي وشقائي والأفسنتين والمرارة التي لم تبرح من ذاكرتي، هذا ما تردده نفسي في،،زاشعر به في قلبي.

HETH. It is the mercies of the Lord, that he has not failed me, because his compassions are not exhausted. Pity us, O Lord, early every month: for we are not brought to an end, because his compassions are not exhausted. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I wait for him.

(٨) من أجل ذلك أتمسك بمراحم الرب أنه لم يتركني عنه، لأنه رأفته لا تزول علي ممر الشهور والأيام كلها، إرحمنا يارب في فنائنا لأن رأفاتك لا تفرغ وهي جديدة في كل صباح. وعظيم هو إيمانك. قالت نفسي : نصيبي هو الرب فلذلك أرجوه.

TETH. The Lord is good to them that wait for him: the soul which shall seek him is good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation of the Lord.

(٩) صالح هو الرب للذين يترجونه، طيب هو للنفس التي تطلبه وتتوقع بسكوت خلاص الرب. جيد للرجل أن يحمل النير منذ صباه.

TETH. It is good for a man when he bears a yoke in his youth. He will sit alone, and be silent, because he has borne it upon him.

(١٠) يجلس وحده ويصمت لأنه قد وضعه عليه يجعل في التراب فمه لعله يجد رجاء، يميل خذه لمن يلطمه ويشبع تعييراً.

JOD. He will give his cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches. For the Lord will not reject for ever.

١١ ) إلا أن الرب لا يقصيه عنه إلي الأبد، فإنه ولو وضعه يترأف عليه ككثرة رحمته لأنه لم يصغر قلبه بل تواضع لبني البشر.

CHAPH. For he that has brought down will pity, and that according to the abundance of his mercy. He has not answered in anger from his heart, though he has brought low the children of a man.

١٢ ) ليذل تحت قدميه جميع المرتبطين بالأرض، أو حرف حكم الرجل أمام وجه العلي، ليلقي الإنسان إلي القضاء عندما يحكم عليه أفما يقول الرب.

LAMED. To bring down under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, to turn aside the judgment of a man before the face of the Most High, to condemn a man unjustly in his judgment, the Lord has not given commandment. Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? the Lord has not commanded it. Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.

١٣ ) من ذا الذي قال فكان، والرب لم يأمر بهذه. أليس من فم العلي تخرج الخيرات والشرور كيف يتذمر الإنسان الحي الرجل المعاقب لأجل خطيته.

MEM. Why should a living man complain, a man concerning his sin?

١٤ ) فلنفحص طرقنا ونختبر خطواتنا ونرجع إلي الرب ولنرفع قلوبنا مع أيدينا لدي العلي الذي في السماء. قد أخطأنا ونافقنا وأعضبنا وأنت لم تغفر لنا.

NUN. Our way has been searched out and examined, and we will turn to the Lord. Let us lift up our hearts with our hand to the lofty One in heaven. We have sinned, we have transgressed; and thou hast not pardoned.

١٥ ) قد إلتحفت وحكمت بالغضب وطردتنا وقتلتنا ولم تشفق، إلتحف بغمام لئلا تبلغ إليك صلاتي. لأتضع لكي لا أري فأطرح.

SAMECH. Thou has visited us in wrath, and driven us away: thou has slain, thou has not pitied. Thou hast veiled thyself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind, and be cast off. AIN. Thou hast set us alone in the midst of the nations. All our enemies have opened their mouth against us. Fear and wrath are come upon us, suspense and destruction. Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

١٦ ) تركتنا في وسط الشعوب ففتح جميع أعدائنا أفواههم علينا فرفعونا ثم طرحونا فحل بنا خوف وسخط عيناي تسيل ينابيع مياه، علي سحق بنت شعبي.

PHE. Mine eye is drowned with tears, and I will not be silent, so that there shall be no rest, until the Lord look down, and behold from heaven. Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, because of all the daughters of the city.

١٧ ) عيني حزنت ولا تكف، ولا أرفع رأسي حتي يتطلع الرب وينظر من السماء، عيني تحزن علي نفسي أكثر من جميع بني المدينة.

TSADE. The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, all mine enemies destroyed my life in a pit without cause, and laid a stone upon me. Water flowed over my head: I said, I am cut off.

١٨ ) قد إصطادني أعدائي كعصفور بلا سبب، وقرضوا في الجب حياتي وطرحوا علي شبكة. فاضت المياه فوق رأسي وقلت : إنه تركني عنه.

KOPH. I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the lowest dungeon. Thou heardest my voice: close not thine ears to my supplication. Thou drewest nigh to my help: in the day wherein I called upon thee thou saidst to me, Fear not.

١٩ ) صرخت بإسمك يارب من جب سفلي، فسمعت صوتي، لا تمل أذنك عن طلبتي في اليوم الذي صرخت إليك إقتربت من معونتي وقلت لي : لا تخف.

RECHS. O Lord, thou has pleaded the causes of my soul; thou has redeemed my life. Thou hast seen, O Lord, my troubles: thou hast judged my cause. Thou hast seen all their vengeance, thou hast looked on all their devices against me.

٢٠ ) حكمت يارب لأحكام نفسي وخلصت حياتي. نظرت يارب إلي إضطرابي وحكم في دعواي، رأيت إنتقامهم كله، جميع أفكارهم الكائنة علي ٢١ ) سمعت تعييرهم يارب وكل مشوراتهم مؤامراتهم التي صنعوها بي اليوم كله وتحرك شفاه القائمين علي، وكانت جميع تلاونهم في النهار كله في جلوسهم وقيامهم.

CHSEN. Thou hast heard their reproach and all their devices against me; the lips of them that rose up against me, and their plots against me all the day; their sitting down and their rising up: look thou upon their eyes. Thou wilt render them a recompense, O Lord, according to the works of their hands.

٢٢ ) أنظر يارب إلي عيونهم وأعطهم مجازاة بحسب أعمال أيديهم وجازهم بالتعب علي قساوة قلوبهم، أطردهم بغضبك وأفنيهم يارب من تحت السماء.

THAU. Thou wilt give them as a covering, the grief of my heart. Thou wilt persecute them in anger, and wilt consume them from under the heaven, O Lord.

Then the men feared exceedingly, and said to him, What is this that thou hast done? for the men knew that he was fleeing from the face of the Lord, because he had told them. And they said to him, What shall we do to thee, that the sea may be calm to us? for the sea rose, and lifted its wave exceedingly. And Jonas said to them, Take me up, and cast me into the sea, and the sea shall be calm to you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.

فخاف الرجال خوفاً عظيماً وقالوا له : ما هذا الذي فعلته لنا. الرجال قد علموا أنه هارب من وجه الرب لأنه أخبرهم فقالوا له : ماذا نصنع بك حتي يسكن عنا البحر، لأنه البحر كان يزداد هياجاً. فقال لهم يونان : إطرحوني في البحر ليسكن البحر عنكم لأني عالم أن هذا الموج العظيم إنما كان عليكم بسبي. وكان الرجال يقذفون ليرجعوا إلي الأرض، فلم يستطيعوا لأن البحر إزداد هياجاً عليهم، فصرخوا إلي الرب وقالوا : أيها الرب لا يكون هذا ولا تدعنا نهلك بسبب نفس هذا الرجل ولا تجلب علينا دماً ذكياً لأنك أيها الرب قد صنعت كما شئت. ثم حملوا يونان وطرحوه في البحر، وهدأ البحر عن هياجه فخاف الرحال من الرب خوفاً عظيماً وذبحوا ذبيحة للرب ونذروا نذوراً فأمر الرب حوتاً عظيماً لإبتلاع يونان فكان يونان في جوف الحوت ثلاثة أيام وثلاث ليال، فصلي يونان للرب غلهه قائلاً : صرخت في ضيقي إلي الرب إلهي فإستجاب لي وصرخت إليه من الجحيم فسمع صوتي. قد طرحني في العمق في قع البحر فأحاطت بي الأنهار وجازت علي جميع تياراتك وأمواجك، فقلت قد طرحت عن وجهك فهل أعود أنظر هيكلك المقدس ؟ قد إنسكبت علي المياه حتي نفسي وغطاني الغمر الأقصي وغطست رأسي في شقوق جبال ونزلت إلي أرض مزاليجها مثبتة إلي الأبد، فلتصعد من النار حياتي أيها الرب إلهي عند فناء نفسي متي تذكرت الرب فلتصعد إليك صلاتي أمام هيكلك المقدس.

And the men tried hard to return to the land, and were not able: for the sea rose and grew more and more tempestuous against them. And they cried to the Lord, and said, Forbid it, Lord: let us not perish for the sake of this man’s life, and bring not righteous blood upon us: for thou, Lord, hast done as thou wouldest. So they took Jonas, and cast him out into the sea: and the sea ceased from its raging. And the men feared the Lord very greatly, and offered a sacrifice to the Lord, and vowed vows.

Now the Lord had commanded a great whale to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights.

And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the whale, and said, I cried in my affliction to the Lord my God, and he hearkened to me, even to my cry out of the belly of hell: thou heardest my voice. Thou didst cast me into the depths of the heart of the sea, and the floods compassed me: all thy billows and thy waves have passed upon me. And I said, I am cast out of thy presence: shall I indeed look again toward thy holy temple? Water was poured around me to the soul: the lowest deep compassed me, my head went down to the clefts of the mountains; I went down into the earth, whose bars are the everlasting barriers: yet, O Lord my God, let my ruined life be restored.

ولما كان المساء، ولأنها كانت الجمعة التي هي قبل السبت، جاء يوسف الذي من الرامة، وكان شريفاً حسن اليسار، ذا مشورة، وكان هو أيضاً يترجي ملكوت الله، فيتجاسر ودخل إلي بيلاطس وطلب جسد يسوع. فتعجب بيلاطس أنه قد مات هكذا سريعاً، فإستدعي قائد المئة وسأله : هل له زمان قد مات ؟ !. ولما عرف من قائد المئة أعطي جسد يسوع ليوسف، فإشتري يوسف لفافة من الكتان، ثم أنزله ولفه بها، ووضعه في قبر كان منحوتاً في صخرة، ودحرج حجراً علي باب القبر، وكانت مريم المجدلية ومريم أم يوسي تنظران أين وضع ولما إنقضي السبت إشترت مريم المجدلية ومريم أم يعقوب وسالومة حنوطاً ليأتين ويحنطنه.

ومن بعد هذا جاء يوسف الذي من الرامة، وهو تلميذ ليسوع وكان مستتراً خوفاً من اليهود، سأل بيلاطس أن جسد يسوع، فأذن له بيلاطس أن يعطي له، فجاء وحمل جسد يسوع، وجاء أيضاً نيقوديموس الذي كان قد جاء أولاً إلي يسوع ليلاً، ومعه حنوط مر وصبر، نحو مئة رطل، فأخذا جسد يسوع ولفاه في لفائف كتان مع الأطيان كعادة اليهود أن يكفنوا. وكان في الموضع الذي صلب فيه يسوع بستان، وكان في البستان قبر جديد لم يوضع فيه أحد قط، فهناك وضعا يسوع لسبب إستعداد اليهود. لأن القبر كان قريباً منهم.

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. And when the evening had come, since it was the day of preparation, that is the day before the Sabbath, a wealthy man called Joseph, a respected member of council who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, and another called Nicodemus, a God loving man, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus, God the Word. Pilate asked him: Is he dead? Then he ordered the centurion to give the body to Joseph. He bough a linen shroud took Jesus down and wrapped Him in the linen shroud. Nicodemus brought about one hundred pounds of fragrant oil and embalmed Him according to Jewish traditions. They laid Him in the tomb, which had just been hewn out of the rock; it was never used before. They rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. Then they rested on the Sabbath in observance of the commandment. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus saw where He was laid.

وفى عشية ذلك اليوم الذى هو جمعة العيد العظيم. الذى يأتي قبل السبت الذى هو لسر السيد. جاء إنسان غنى اسمه يوسف وكان ذا رأى يعرف الناموس. وإنسان آخر يسمى نيقوديموس طوباوي محب للإله. وكان يوسف هذا هو وآباؤه يهتمون بأجساد القديسين القديسين. فأتى إلى بيلاطس وسأله عن جسد الإله الكلمة الوحيد. فاستفهم منه هل مات فتعجب الوالى جداً. وهكذا أمر قائد المائة بأن يعطوه جسد يسوع.فأخذ صاحب المشورة الصالحة الصديق الجسد واهتم به. وأحضر أكفاناً ناعمة نقية كما يليق بإبن الله. وأحضر أيضاً نيقوديموس أطياباً كثيرة الثمن نحو مائة رطل طيب. وهكذا كفنوه كعادة العبرانيين ووضعوا الطيب على المبارك. وكان قبر جديد فى البستان طاهراً نقياً لم يوضع أحداً فيه. فوضعوا جسد الوحيد فى ذلك القبر وتركوا حجراً عليه. فاستراحوا كالوصية من أجل السبت صنعوا هكذا. وكن نسوة واقفات ينظرن ما كان. المجدلية ومريم الأخرى علمن جيدا أين وضع.

إستمر إبن الله بين الأموات ثلاثة أيام وكمل طريقه، كرز يونان في أسواق نينوي ثلاة أيام وصار بذلك رمزاً وآية لطريق إبن الله التي في أسواق الهاوية هذه المدة كما تردد ذلك في شوارع مدينة أشور حين أنذر بإنقلابها، ولكنها لم تنقلب. أما سيده فلما سار في الهاوية فإنه دكها وقوض أساسها.،اما كون نينوي لم تنقلب بإنذار النبي فلأن خلاصها كان رمزاً غلي قيامة الإبن في اليوم الثالث ونجاه سكان الهاوية ببشارته التي نشرها في أنحائها لأنه قاسها بخطواته ناشراً ألوية السلام كي يأمن من الهلاك من يطأها في المستقبل. غطس المصلوب وجس قرار العمق وإنتشل آدم الذي إنطبق عليه فم البئر فخنقه. فحص حماة الموت طالباً الجوهرة التي سقطت فيها وأخذها وصعد بها الي والده. إبتلع الموت إبن الله كما إبتلع الحوت العظيم نبيه يونان وبغير فساد لفظه في اليوم الثالث. إستمر المصلوب حياً في بطن الأرض ثلاثة أيام ثم خرج بعظمة. من الآكل خرج الأكل سليماً ومن المرارة خرجت الحلاوة كما كتب وتفسير بدفن الوحيد وقيامته مثل شمشون ولغزه. الموت مر ولكنه بالمسيح صار حلواً. الآكل هو الموت الذي أكل الأجيال فصار المسيح طعاماً ليحيي الذين أفناهم الموت. ما بال اليهود قد جنوا بهذا المقدار، حتي حاولوا أن يحرسوا القبر والمقبور فيه ؟ أيقدر الغبار أن يضغط الريح ؟ قتلوا الجبار فأفزعهم بقوته الخية وأرعبهم فجنوا من الخوف لأنهم سمعوه يقول أنه يموت ويقوم في اليوم الثالث. فضبطوا قبره وسخروا الجنود ليحرسوه، فإذا كان صادقاً في وعده فلا فائدة تعود عليكم من حراسته وإن كان كاذباً فماذا يرعبكم ؟ أراق اليهود الدم وعده فلا فائدة تعود عليكم من حراسته وغن كان كاذباً فماذا يرعبكم ؟ أراق اليهود الدم الزكي علي الأرض فخافوا وسألوا من الحاكم حراساً ليراقبوه وينظروا قيامته ويكونوا شهود عدل عليها. صلبه الشعب فحول وجهه ليجذب الشعوب إلي الإقرار بربوبيته وقيامته المعظمة. لأن الحراس الرومان كانوا يمثلون الأمم. ألقي الفلاحون البذار في الأرض وكرهوا أن يروه نابتاً ويأتي بمحصول يغني فقرهم فنبت وأثمر وأغني الأمم. أي ميت دفن في الأرض مخافة الناس إلا ربنا الذي قهر بموته شوكة الموت ؟ وأي مقتول ألقي الرعب في قلوب قاتليه ؟ فساقهم بغضبهم الشديد إلي أن يضعوا في وجه ميتهم هذا صخراً عظيماً يختمونه ثم حرسه العسكر كمن يحتفظون بخزانة مملوءة جواهر كريمة خوافاً عليها من طواريء الليل. بعد أن إفتقد ربنا أرض الموتي وعزم العودة إلي مكان أبيه أو عز أبوه كوكبة أرواح الملائكة ليحتفوا بقدومه. عند الجلجلة وقت قبول الرب للآلام المبرحة وإنهيال الشتائم عليه من كل جانب لم يتجل ملاك واحد، ولا عند قيامه أمام مجمع اليهود في بيت حنان وقيافا. ولا وقت وقوفه ليحاكم كمجرم أمام الحاكم الروماني أو الحاكم الجليلي اليهودي ولا في الهاوية عند إفتقادها لمدفونين منذ الزمن الطويل في ظلمات القبور وقد ضبطت العناية تلك القوات عن أن يطل أحدهم أو يتراءي في أحد هذه الأماكن ولو سمحت لهم بذلك لما أبقوا عليالعالم دقيقة واحدة ولكانوا دمروه في طرفه عين إذ كان رابع المستحيلات أن يروا ويسمعوا الجلدات والإهانات تقرع ظهر خالقهم وسيدهم بدون أن تتحفز الطغمة الملتهبة للقتال والكفاح والنضال والإنتقام من أولئك المردة. ولكن بعد أن أكمل أنواع تدابيره فكت جنود السماء وسمح لهم أن يقوموا بالمفروض عند تشريف وقدوم المصلوب الظافر والميت القاهر. ومن غرائب الإتفاقات أن إبن الله كان يلاقيه في كل مكان أهله لأنه صار طفلاً رحب به الأطفال ولما صار ميتاً رحب بقدومه الأموات ولما حول وجهه ليرجع إلي بلده السمائي إستعد أهل هذا البلد وهم الملائكة ليرافقه البعض الآخر وكذلك عندما أشرقت أنوار قيامته كان الجند السماوي أول المبشرين بها. في نصف النهار كان ليل وفي نصف الليل كان نهار والساعات التي أستلفها هذا من ذلك ردها له بأرباحها لأن نور المدفون أشرق علي الذين كانوا يجلسون في ظلمة الليل الحالك وهو أقوي من نور شمس هذا العالم بكثير فتباركت أنت أيها الرب يا من صلب وقبر وإفتقد سكان القبور وأقامهم بقيامته الممجدة.آمين.
