And now if thou wilt forgive their sin, forgive it; and if not, blot me out of thy book, which thou hast written. And the Lord said to Moses, If any one has sinned against me, I will blot them out of my book. And now go, descend, and lead this people into the place of which I spoke to thee: behold, my angel shall go before thy face; and in the day when I shall visit I will bring upon them their sin. And the Lord smote the people for the making the calf, which Aaron made. And the Lord said to Moses, Go forward, go up hence, thou and thy people, whom thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, into the land which I swore to Abraam, and Isaac, and Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed. And I will send at the same time my angel before thy face, and he shall cast out the Amorite and the Chettite, and the Pherezite and Gergesite, and Evite, and Jebusite, and Chananite. And I will bring thee into a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up with thee, because thou art a stiff-necked people, lest I consume thee by the way. And the people having heard this grievous saying, mourned in mourning apparel. For the Lord said to the children of Israel, Ye are a stiff-necked people; take heed lest I bring on you another plague, and destroy you: now then put off your glorious apparel, and your ornaments, and I will shew thee what I will do to thee.

وكان بعد الغد ان قال موسي للشعب : انتم قد اخطاتم خطيه عظيمه فاصعد الان الي الله لعلي اكفر عن خطيتكم فرجع موسي الي الرب وقال : اتضرع اليك يا رب قد خطئ هذا الشعب خطيه عظيمه وصنعوا لهم الهه من ذهب والان ان كنت تغفر لهم خطيتهم فاغفر والا فامحني من سفرك الذي كتبتني فيه فقال الرب لموسي : من اخطا امامي امحوه من سفري والان امض لينزل وتقود هذا الشعب الي حيث قلت لك هوذا ملاكي يسير امامك وفي يوم افتقادي اجلب عليهم خطيتهم فضرب الرب الشعب بسبب صنع العجل الذي صنعه هرون وقال الرب لموسي اذهب وانطلق من ههنا انت وشعبك هؤلاء الذين اخرجتهم من ارض مصر الي الارض التي اقسمت لابراهيم واسحق ويعقوب قائلا لنسلك اعطيها وانا ارسل امامك ملاكي ويطرد الاموري والكلداني والفرازني واليبوساني والكنعاني وادخلك الي الارض التي تفيض لبنا وعسلا واما انا فلا اصعد معك لانك شعب صلب الرقبه لئلا افنيك في الطريق فلما سمع الشعب هذا الكلام القاسي ناحوا فقال الرب لبني اسرئيل : انتم شعب صلب الرقبه انظروا لئلا اتي عليكم بضربه اخري فابيدكم.مجدا للثالوث الاقدس

Wisdom shall praise herself, and shall glory in the midst of her people. In the congregation of the most High shall she open her mouth, and triumph before his power. I came out of the mouth of the most High, and covered the earth as a cloud. I dwelt in high places, and my throne is in a cloudy pillar. I alone compassed the circuit of heaven, and walked in the bottom of the deep. In the waves of the sea and in all the earth, and in every people and nation, I got a possession. With all these I sought rest: and in whose inheritance shall I abide? So the Creator of all things gave me a commandment, and he that made me caused my tabernacle to rest, and said, Let thy dwelling be in Jacob, and thine inheritance in Israel. He created me from the beginning before the world, and I shall never fail. In the holy tabernacle I served before him; and so was I established in Sion. Likewise in the beloved city he gave me rest, and in Jerusalem was my power. And I took root in an honourable people, even in the portion of the Lord’s inheritance. I was exalted like a cedar in Libanus, and as a cypress tree upon the mountains of Hermon. I was exalted like a palm tree in En-gaddi, and as a rose plant in Jericho, as a fair olive tree in a pleasant field, and grew up as a plane tree by the water. I gave a sweet smell like cinnamon and aspalathus, and I yielded a pleasant odour like the best myrrh, as galbanum, and onyx, and sweet storax, and as the fume of frankincense in the tabernacle.

الحكمه تمدح نفسها وتقبل طالبيها وتفتخر في وسط الجماعات وتفتح فاها في جماعه العلي وتفتخر امام قوته قائله : اني خرجت من فم العلي وغشيت الارض مثل الضباب وسكنت في الاعالي وعرشي في عامود سحاب وطفت حول السماء وحدي وسلكت في عمق الغمر وفي امواج البحر والارض باسرها وهبطت في كل الشعوب وكل الامم في هذه كلها التمست مسكنا فباي ميراث احل ؟ حينئذ اوصاني خالق الجميع والذي خلقني عين مسكني وقال : اسكني في يعقوب ورثي في اسرائيل قبل الدهور ومن البدء خلقتني والي الابد لا ازول وقد خدمت امامه في الخيمه المقدسه وهكذا في صهيون ثبتني لاسكن في مدينته المحبوبه وسلطاني في اورشليم.مجدا للثالوث الاقدس

And in the day after tomorrow, Moses addressed the whole group of the sons of Israel: You have sinned in front of the Lord and made an ox (to worship instead of the Lord). Now I will have to go and mediate on your behalf so that he may grant you his mercy and forgive your sins. The prophet went back to God and prostrated himself in front of him saying: O Merciful and patient Lord forgive your people’s sin. If you elect not to forgive them please wipe my name from the Book of Life. The Lord said to him: Those who sinned are those whom I would remove their names from the Book of Life. The people knew how severe this is and they wept in great lamentations. And the Lord said; You – my people – are ruthless, stiff-necked and evildoers. I will surely strike you with severe inflictions and decimate you.

ومن بعد غد أجاب موسى وقال لكل جماعة بنى إسرائيل : إنكم أخطأتم أمام الرب وصنعتم لكم عجلاً، والآن سأمضى وأسأل فيكم لعله يرحمكم ويغفر خطاياكم. فعاد النبى الى الرب وسجد أمامه قائلاً : أيها الرب الرؤوف، الطويل الروح، إغفر خطايا شعبك، وإن كنت لا تشاء أن تغفر لهم فأمح إسمى من سفر الحياة. فقال له الرب :إن الذى أخطأ هو الذى يمحى من سفرى. فسمع الشعب أن هذا القول صعب جداً فناح بنحيب عظيم، فقال الرب : إنك أنت شعب قاس، غليظ الرقبة، أثيم، فأنظر وتيقن فأننى منزل عليك ضربة عظيمة وأمحوك.

Christ our Savior, has come and has borne suffering, that through His passion, He may save us.

المسيح مخلصنا جاء وتألم عنا لكى بآلامه يخلصنا.

Let us glorify Him, and exalt His Name, for He has done us mercy, according to His great mercy.
