Daniel 3:91-97

دانيال ٣: ٩١ – ٩٧

And Nabuchodonosor heard them singing praises; and he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? and they said to the king, Yes, O king. And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God. Then Nabuchodonosor drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, proceed forth, and come hither. So Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, came forth out of the midst of the fire. Then were assembled the satraps, and captains, and heads of provinces, and the royal princes; and they saw the men, and perceived that the fire had not had power against their bodies, and the hair of their head was not burnt, and their coats were not scorched, nor was the smell of fire upon them.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ Ⲛⲁⲃⲟⲩⲭⲟⲇⲟⲛⲟⲥⲟⲣ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϩⲱⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲣϣ̀ⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲓⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉϥⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥⲣⲉϥϣⲉⲙϣⲓ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ !ⲅ ⲛ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲛϩⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲯ̀ⲙⲏϯ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲛϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϫⲉ ⲁ̀ϩⲁ ⲧⲁⲫ̀ⲙⲏⲓ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀!ⲇ ⲛ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉⲩⲃⲏⲗ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲯ̀ⲙⲏϯ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϩ̀ⲗⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲕⲟ ϣⲟⲡ ⲛ̀ϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲡ̀ⲥ̀ⲙⲟⲧ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩ!ⲇ ⲉϥⲟ̀ⲛⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϯ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲯⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲧⲣⲁⲡⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲥⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲧⲟⲡⲁⲣⲭⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲣⲉⲙⲛ̀ϫⲟⲙ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ ⲉⲣⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓϥⲱⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲧⲟⲩⲁ̀ⲫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϣⲱϩⲡ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϣⲓⲃϯ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲥ̀ⲯⲟⲓ ⲛ̀ⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ.

وأن نبوخذ نصر الملك سمعهم يسبحون فاندهش وقام بسرعة وقال لعظمائه وخدامه ألم نكن قد ألقينا ثلاثة رجال في وسط أتون النار وهم موثقون فأجابوا وقالوا نعم حقاً أيها الملك. فقال الملك هوذا أنا أري أربعة رجال محلولين يمشون في وسط النار وليس بهم ضرر ومنظر الرابع يشبه ابن إله. حينئذ اقترب نبوخذ نصر إلى باب أتون النار المتقدة وقال يا سدراك وميساك وابدناوغو عبيد الله العلي أخرجوا وهلموا فخرج سدراك وميساك وابدناغو من وسط النار. فاجتمعت الأقطاب والولاة والحكام وعظماء الملك فرأوا أن هؤلاء الرجال لم تكن للنار قوة على أجسامهم ولم تحترق شعرة من رؤوسهم ولم تتغير سراويلهم ولم تكن فيها رائحة النار.

And king Nabuchodonosor answered and said, Blessed be the God of Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants, because they trusted in him; and they have changed the king’s word, and delivered their bodies to be burnt, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Wherefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, or language, that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered: because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus. Then the king promoted Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙ̀Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲙ̀ⲯⲟ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ̀ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲛⲁⲃⲟⲩⲭⲟⲇⲟⲛⲟⲥⲟⲣ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϥ̀ⲥ̀ⲙⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲫϯ ⲛ̀Ⲥⲉⲇⲣⲁⲕ Ⲙⲓⲥⲁⲕ Ⲁⲃⲇⲉⲛⲁⲅⲱ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉϥⲉ̀ⲃⲓⲁⲓⲕ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣϩ̀ⲯⲏⲟⲩ ⲭⲏ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲁⲩϣⲉⲃⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϯ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ ϩⲟⲡⲱⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙϣⲉⲙϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛ̀ⲕⲉⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⲉ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩϯ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ϯⲛⲁⲭⲱ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩϩⲱⲛ ⲛ̀ⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲫⲩⲗⲏ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲁⲥⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ⲗⲁⲥ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲯⲛⲁϫⲉⲟⲩⲁ̀ ⲉ̀Ⲫϯ ⲛ̀Ⲥⲉⲇⲣⲁⲕ Ⲙⲓⲥⲁⲕ Ⲁⲃⲇⲉⲛⲁⲅⲱ ⲉⲩⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲱⲗⲉⲙ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲕⲉⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲟⲛϣ̀ϫⲟⲙ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ. Ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲧⲁϩⲟ ⲛ̀Ⲥⲉⲇⲣⲁⲕ ⲙⲓⲥⲁⲕ Ⲁⲃⲇⲉⲛⲁⲅⲱ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϩ̀ⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲧ̀ⲭⲱⲣⲁ ⲙ̀Ⲃⲁⲃⲩⲗⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϭⲁⲥⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲁⲝⲓⲟⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲒⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ.

فسجد الملك للرب أمامهم وقال نبوخذ نصر الملك تبارك الرب إله سدراك وميساك وابداناغو الذي أرسل ملاكه وانقذ عبيده الذين توكلوا عليه وغيروا كلمة الملك وبذلوا أجسامهم للنار لئلا يعبدوا ويسجدوا لإلهة غير إلههم. وأنا أصدر أمرأ في كل شعب وكل قبيلة وكل لسان أن كل من يتفوه بتجديف على إله سدراك وميساك وابداناغو يكون للهلاك وبيوتهم للنهب فإنه ليس إله أخر يقدر ان ينجي هكذا. حينئذ أقام الملك سدراك وميساك وابدناغو على أعمال كورة بابل ورفعهم وفضلهم أن يكونوا على كل اليهود الذين في مملكته.

Luke 1:46-55

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

فقالت مريم: تعظم نفسي الرب وتبتهج روحي بالله مخلصي لأنه نظر إلى اتضاع أمته. فهوذا منذ الآن جميع الأجيال تطوبني لأن القدير صنع بي عظائم واسمه قدوس ورحمته إلى جيل الأجيال للذين يتقونه صنع قوة بذراعه شتت المستكبرين بفكر قلوبهم أنزل الأعزاء عن الكراسى ورفع المتضعين أشبع الجياع من الخيرات وصرف الأغنياء فارغين. عضد إسرائيل فتاه ليذكر رحمته كما كلم آباءنا إبراهيم ونسله إلى الأبد.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

مبارك الرب إله إسرائيل لأنه افتقد وصنع فداء لشعبه وأقام لنا خلاصاً في بيت داود فتاه كما تكلم بفم أنبياءه القديسين الذين هم منذ الدهر. خلاص من أعدائنا ومن أيدي جميع مبغضينا. ليصنع رحمة مع آباءنا ويذكر عهده المقدس. القسم الذي حلق لإبراهيم أبينا. أن يعطينا أننا لا خوف منقذين من أيدي أعدائنا. نعبده بقداسة وبر قدامه جميع أيام حياتنا.

And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲉⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧϭⲟⲥⲓ ⲭⲛⲁⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲑⲟ ⲙⲡϭⲥ ⲉⲥⲉⲃⲧⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲱⲓⲧ: ⲉϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲙⲓ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲭⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲛⲟⲃⲓ: ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϣⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫⲛⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡϭⲓⲥⲓ: ⲉⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧϧⲏⲓⲃⲓ ⲙⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡϫⲓⲛⲥⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⲉⲫⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ.

وأنت أيها الصبي نبي العلي تدعي لأنك تتقدم أمام وجه الرب لتعد طرقه. لتعطي شعبه معرفة الخلاص بمغفرة خطاياهم. بأحشاء رحمة إلهنا التي بها افتقدنا. المشرق من العلاء ليضيء على الجالسين في الظلمة وظلال الموت لكي يهدي أقدامنا في طريق السلام.

الآن تطلق عبدك يا سيد حسب قولك بسلام. لأن عيني قد أبصرتا خلاصك الذي أعددته قدام وجه جميع الشعوب نوراً إعلان للأمم ومجداً لشعبك إسرائيل.

Daniel 13:1-64

دانيال ١٣ :١ -٦٤

There dwelt a man in Babylon, called Joacim: And he took a wife, whose name was Susanna, the daughter of Chelcias, a very fair woman, and one that feared the Lord. Her parents also were righteous, and taught their daughter according to the law of Moses. Now Joacim was a great rich man, and had a fair garden joining unto his house: and to him resorted the Jews; because he was more honourable than all others.

Ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲃⲁⲃⲩⲗⲱⲛ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ. Ⲁϥϭⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲧ̀ϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲛ̀Ⲭⲁⲗⲕⲓⲁⲥ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲉⲥ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲥⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲙ̀Ⲫϯ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉⲥⲓⲟϯ ⲛⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲑ̀ⲙⲏⲒ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϯⲥ̀ⲃⲱ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̀Ⲙⲱⲩ̀ⲥⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ. Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲣⲁⲙⲁⲟ̀ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϧⲁⲑⲟⲩⲟϥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲒⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲛⲁϥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.

كان في بابل رجل اسمه يواقيم وتزوج بإمراة اسمها سوسنة ابنة حلقيا جميلة جداً ومتقية للرب. وكان أبواها صديقين فأدبا ابنتهما على حسب شريعة موسي. وكان يواقيم زوجها غنياً جداً. وكانت له حديقة تلى داره. وكان اليهود يجتمعون إليه لأنه كان أوجههم جميعاً.

The same year were appointed two of the ancients of the people to be judges, such as the Lord spake of, that wickedness came from Babylon from ancient judges, who seemed to govern the people. These kept much at Joacim’s house: and all that had any suits in law came unto them.

Ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲃ̅ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲏⲃ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲓ̀ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ Ⲃⲁⲃⲩⲗⲱⲛ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲕ̀ⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲉⲣϩⲉⲙⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉ̀ϣⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲏⲓ ⲛ̀Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑϭⲓϩⲁⲡ.

وكان قد أقيم شيخان من الشعب للقضاء في تلك السنة، وهما من الذين قال السيد عنهم أن الإثم قد صدر من بابل من شيوخ قضاة كان يظن أنهم مدبري الشعب وكان هذان الشيخان ملازمين يواقيم مع كل ذى دعوى ليحكما بينهما.

Now when the people departed away at noon, Susanna went into her husband’s garden to walk. And the two elders saw her going in every day, and walking; so that their lust was inflamed toward her. And they perverted their own mind, and turned away their eyes, that they might not look unto heaven, nor remember just judgments. And albeit they both were wounded with her love, yet durst not one shew another his grief. For they were ashamed to declare their lust, that they desired to have to do with her. Yet they watched diligently from day to day to see her.

Ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧ̀ⲫⲁϣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲥⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲉⲥⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ. Ⲛⲁⲩϯⲛⲓⲁ̀ⲧⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲏⲛⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲥⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ̀. Ⲁⲩⲫⲱⲛϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉ̀ϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ ⲉ̀ⲧ̀ⲫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲉⲣⲫ̀ⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ϩⲁⲛϩⲁⲡ ⲛ̀ⲑ̀ⲙⲏⲓ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲃ̅ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲙ̀ⲕⲁϩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ. Ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲓⲡⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲥ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϯϩ̀ⲑⲏⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲙⲏⲛⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲓ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ.

وكانت سوسنة متى انصرف الشعب عند الظهر تدخل وتتمشي في حديقة رجلها فكان الشيخان ينظرانها كل يوم تدخل وتتمشى في البستان فكلفا بهواها وأسلما عقولهما للفساد. وأغمضا أعينهما لئلا ينظرا إلى السماء ولئلا يتذكرا الأحكام العادلة، وكان كلاهما مشغوفين بها ولم يكاشف أحدهما الآخر بما يوجعه لأنهما كانا يخجلان أن يخبرا بشهوتهما لأنهما كانا يريدان أن يضاجعاها هما الاثنين وكانا كل يوم يجدان في الترقب بتشوق لكي ينطراها.

And the one said to the other, Let us now go home: for it is dinner time. So when they were gone out, they parted the one from the other, and turning back again they came to the same place; and after that they had asked one another the cause, they acknowledged their lust: then appointed they a time both together, when they might find her alone.

ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛϣⲉⲛⲁⲛ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲫ̀ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ. Ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⲁⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲙⲁ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϯⲉ̀ⲧⲓⲁ̀ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ̀ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩϯⲛⲉⲓ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁϫⲉⲙⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲥ.

وأن أحدهما قال للآخر لننصرف إلى بيوتنا فإنها ساعة الغداء، فخرجا وتفارقا ثم انقلبا والتقيا اثناهما فسأل بعضهما بعضاً عن سبب رجوعهما فاعترفا بهواهما وحينئذ اتفقا على وقت يمكنهما فيه أن يخلوا بها وحدها.

And it fell out, as they watched a fit time, she went in as before with two maids only, and she was desirous to wash herself in the garden: for it was hot. And there was no body there save the two elders, that had hid themselves, and watched her. Then she said to her maids, Bring me oil and washing balls, and shut the garden doors, that I may wash me.

Ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϫⲓⲛⲧⲟⲩϯ ⲛ̀ϩ̀ⲑⲏⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϩⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲥⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲅ̅ ⲙ̀ⲫⲟⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲁ̀ⲗⲟⲩ ⲥ̀ⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲥⲉⲣⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲛ ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲕⲉⲙ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲡ̀ⲕⲁⲩⲙⲁ ⲡⲉ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϩ̀ⲗⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥⲃ̅ ⲉⲩⲭⲏⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϯⲛⲓⲁ̀ⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲡⲉ. Ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲥⲁ̀ⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀ ϫⲉ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲛⲉϩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲥⲙⲏⲙⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁϫⲱⲕⲉⲙ.

وكان في بعض الأيام بينما هما مترقبان اليوم الموافق أنها دخلت مثل امس وقبل أمس تتمشى داخل البستان ومعها جاريتان فقط، وأرادت أن تغتسل في الحديقة لأنه كان حر ولم يكن هناك أحد إلا الشيخان وهما مختبئان يتأملانها، فقالت للجاريتين أئتياني بدهن وأغلقا أبواب الحديقة لاغتسل.

And they did as she bade them, and shut the garden doors, and went out themselves at privy doors to fetch the things that she had commanded them: but they saw not the elders, because they were hid.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲓ̀ⲣⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁⲥϫⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲣⲟ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲓ̀ⲛⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲃ̅ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲁⲩⲭⲏⲡ ⲡⲉ.

ففعلتا كما أمرتهما وأغلقا أبوب الحديقة وخرجتا من أبوب السر لتأتيا بما أمرتهما به، ولم تعلم ان الشيخين مختبئان هناك.

Now when the maids were gone forth, the two elders rose up, and ran unto her, saying, Behold, the garden doors are shut, that no man can see us, and we are in love with thee; therefore consent unto us, and lie with us. If thou wilt not, we will bear witness against thee, that a young man was with thee: and therefore thou didst send away thy maids from thee.

Ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲁ̀ⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥⲃ̅ ⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲥ. Ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲥⲉϣⲟⲧⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϩ̀ⲗⲓ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲛ ⲧⲉⲛ ⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ̀ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲧⲟϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ. Ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϧⲁⲣⲟ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϥϣⲟⲡ ⲛⲉⲙⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϧⲉⲗϣⲓⲣⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁⲣⲉⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲁ̀ⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϩⲁⲣⲟ.

فلما خرجت الجاريتان قام الشيخان وهجما عليها وقالا لها: ها هوذا أبواب الحديقة مغلقة ولا يرانا أحد. ونحن شغوفان بهواك فوافقينا وكوني معنا. وإلا فنشهد عليك أنه كان معك شاب لذلك صرفت الجاريتين عنك.

Then Susanna sighed, and said, I am straitened on every side: for if I do this thing, it is death unto me: and if I do it not I cannot escape your hands. It is better for me to fall into your hands, and not do it, than to sin in the sight of the Lord.

Ⲁⲥϥⲓⲁ̀ϩⲟⲙ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ϯϩⲉϫϩⲱϫ ⲙ̀ⲫⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲁⲥⲁ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲓϣⲁⲛⲉⲣ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲓϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲁⲓϥ ⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲁϣ̀ⲫⲱⲧ ⲁⲛ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲓϫ. Ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁⲛⲉⲥ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲁⲓϥ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲟⲩⲱ̀ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲓϫ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲙ̀ⲑⲟ ⲙ̀Ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲧ̀ⲫⲉ.

فتنهدت سوسنة وقالت: لقد ضاق بي الأمر من كل جهة فإني إن فعلت هذا فهو لي موت، وإن لم أفعل فلا أنجو من أيديكما. ولكن خير لي أن لا أفعل ثم أقع في أيديكم من أن أخطئ أمام إله السماء.

With that Susanna cried with a loud voice: and the two elders cried out against her.

Ⲁⲥⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛ̀ⲥ̀ⲙⲏ ⲁⲩⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲃ̅ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲙ̀ⲑⲟ.

وصرخت سوسنة بصوت عظيم فصرخ الشيخان عليها.

Then ran the one, and opened the garden door. So when the servants of the house heard the cry in the garden, they rushed in at the privy door, to see what was done unto her. But when the elders had declared their matter, the servants were greatly ashamed: for there was never such a report made of Susanna.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϭⲟϫⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ. Ϩⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓϧ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲓ ⲁⲩϣⲉⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ. Ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲁⲩϣ̀ⲫⲓⲧ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲉ̀ⲃⲓⲁⲓⲕ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ϫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ ϧⲁ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ.

وأسرع أحدهما وفتح أبواب الحديقة. فلما سمع أهل البيت الصراخ في الحديقة وثبوا إليها للوقت ليروا ما وقع لها، ولما تكلم الشيخان بكلامهما خجل العبيد جداً، لأنه لم يقل قط مثل هذا القول على سونسة.

And it came to pass the next day, when the people were assembled to her husband Joacim, the two elders came also full of mischievous imagination against Susanna to put her to death; And said before the people, Send for Susanna, the daughter of Chelcias, Joacim’s wife. And so they sent. So she came with her father and mother, her children, and all her kindred.

Ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲥϯ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ̀ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϩⲁ Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲓ̀ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥⲃ̅ ⲉⲩⲙⲉϩ ⲙ̀ⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ̀ ϧⲁ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϫⲓⲛϧⲟⲑⲃⲉⲥ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲙ̀ⲑⲟ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲧ̀ϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲛ̀Ⲭⲁⲗⲕⲓⲁⲥ ⲧ̀ⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛ̀Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ. Ⲁⲥⲓ̀ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥⲓⲟϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥⲥⲩⲅⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.

وفي الغد لما اجتمع الشعب مع يواقيم رجلها أتي الشيخان مضمرين نية أثيمة ليهلكاها وقالا أمما الشعب أرسلوا إلى سوسنة بنت حلقيا التي هي إمراة يواقيم. فأرسلوا وأتت سوسنة هي ووالداها وبنوها وجميع ذوى قرابتها.

Now Susanna was a very delicate woman, and beauteous to behold. And these wicked men commanded to uncover her face, (for she was covered) that they might be filled with her beauty. Therefore her friends and all that saw her wept.

Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲁⲓⲏ ⲧⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲥ̀ⲙⲟⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲉⲥ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲧⲉ. Ⲛⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲕⲉⲗⲉⲩⲓⲛ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲃⲁϣ ϫⲱⲥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ϫⲱⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲟⲃⲥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲟⲡⲱⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲥⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲥⲁⲓ. Ⲛⲁⲩⲣⲓⲙⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲏⲡ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.

وكانت سوسنة جميلة المنظر وحسنة جداً، فأمر هذان الفاجران أن تكشف رأسها لأن رأسها كانت مغطاة ليشبعا من جمالها، وكن أهلها وجميع الذين ينظرونها يبكون.

Then the two elders stood up in the midst of the people, and laid their hands upon her head. And she weeping looked up toward heaven: for her heart trusted in the Lord.

Ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑ̀ⲙⲏϯ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲭⲏ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϫⲓϫ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲁ̀ⲫⲉ. Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲣⲓⲙⲓ ⲁⲥϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲒ ⲉ̀ⲧ̀ⲫⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲉϩ ⲉ̀Ⲫϯ ⲡⲉ.

فقام الشيخان في وسط الشعب ووضعا أيديهما على رأسها فرفعت طرفها إلى السماء وهي باكية لأن قلبها كان متوكلاً على الله.

And the elders said, As we walked in the garden alone, this woman came in with two maids, and shut the garden doors, and sent the maids away. Then a young man, who there was hid, came unto her, and lay with her. Then we that stood in a corner of the garden, seeing this wickedness, ran unto them.

Ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲁⲥⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲥ̀ⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ. Ⲁϥⲓ̀ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϧⲉⲗϣⲓⲣⲓ ⲉϥⲭⲏⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲛ̀ⲕⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲥ. Ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲭⲏⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲉⲗⲕⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ϯⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ̀ ⲁⲛϭⲟϫⲓ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲡ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ.

فقال الشيخان: أننا كنا نتمشي في الحديقة وحدنا فإذا بهذه قد دخلت ومعها جاريتان ثم صرفت الجاريتين وأغلقت أبواب الحديقة فأتاها شاب كان مختبئاً في الحديقة ووقع عليها. وكنا نحن مختبئين في زاوية من الحديقة، فلما رأينا الاثم أسرعنا إليهما.

And when we saw them together, the man we could not hold: for he was stronger than we, and opened the door, and leaped out. But having taken this woman, we asked who the young man was, but she would not tell us: these things do we testify.

Ⲫⲏ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲛϣ̀ϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⲉ̀ⲁ̀ⲙⲁϩⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϥϫⲟⲣ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲫⲱⲧ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛⲁϥ. Ⲑⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲁ̀ⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛϣⲉⲛⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲓϧⲉⲗϣⲓⲣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲛ.

ورأيناهما متعانقين، أما ذاك فلم نستطيع أن نمسكه لأنه كان أقوى مننا ففتح الأبواب وفر، وأما هذه فقبضنا عليها وسألناها عن الشاب فأبت ان تخبرنا، هذا ما نشهد به.

Then the assembly believed them as those that were the elders and judges of the people: so they condemned her to death.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲥⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ϯⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ϩⲱⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲁⲛⲕ̀ⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲁⲩϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲣⲉⲥⲙⲟⲩ.

فصدقهما المجمع لأنهما شيخان وقاضيان في الشعب وحكموا عليها بالموت.

Then Susanna cried out with a loud voice, and said, O everlasting God, that knowest the secrets, and knowest all things before they be: Thou knowest that they have borne false witness against me, and, behold, I must die; whereas I never did such things as these men have maliciously invented against me. And the Lord heard her voice.

Ⲁⲥⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛ̀ⲥ̀ⲙⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲡⲓϣⲁⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉⲧϩⲏⲡ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̀ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ. Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲱ̀ Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϫ ϧⲁⲣⲟⲓ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲉⲣ ϩ̀ⲗⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ. Ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲥⲥ̀ⲙⲏ.

فصرخت سوسنة بصوت عظيم وقالت: أيها الرب الأزلي، العارف الخفايا، العالم بكل شيء قبل أن يكون أنك تعلم أيها الرب أنهما شهدا على بالزور، وها أنا أموت ولم أصنع شيئاً مما أفتري علي بى هذان فاستجاب الرب لصوتها.

Therefore when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young youth whose name was Daniel: Who cried with a loud voice, I am clear from the blood of this woman.

Ⲉⲩⲱ̀ⲗⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲕⲟⲥ ⲁ Ⲫϯ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁ̀ⲗⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲃⲉⲣⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ. Ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ϯⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⲡ̀ⲥ̀ⲛⲟϥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲓⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ.

وإذ كانت تساق إلى الموت، نبه الله روحاً مقدساً لشاب حدث اسمه دانيال، فصرخ بصوت : أنا برئ من دم هذه المرأة.

Then all the people turned them toward him, and said, What mean these words that thou hast spoken? So he standing in the midst of them said, Are ye such fools, ye sons of Israel, that without examination or knowledge of the truth ye have condemned a daughter of Israel? Return again to the place of judgment: for they have borne false witness against her.

Ⲁϥⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲕϫⲟϥ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ. Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲏϯ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲥⲟϫ ϧⲁ ⲛⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙ̀Ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ϫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϧⲟⲧⲱⲉⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛⲥ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲓ ⲧ̀ϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲙ̀Ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲁⲡ. Ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙⲁⲛ̀ϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϫ ϧⲁⲣⲟⲥ.

فالتفت إليه الشعب كله وقالوا ما هذا الكلام الذي قلته، فوقف في وسطهم وقال: أهكذا أنتم أغبياء يا بين إسرائيل؟ ما فحصتم وما عرفتم الحق وقضيتم على بنى إسرائيل. ولكن أرجعوا إلى القضاء فإن هذين إنما شهدا عليها بالزور.

Wherefore all the people turned again in haste, and the elders said unto him, Come, sit down among us, and shew it us, seeing God hath given thee the honour of an elder.

Ⲁϥⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁ̀ⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲙⲏϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲁ Ⲫϯ ϯ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ.

فأسرع الشعب كله ورجع فقال له الشيخان: هلم أجلس بيننا وأفدنا فقد أتاك الله المشيخة.

Then said Daniel unto them, Put these two aside one far from another, and I will examine them.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ ϫⲉ ⲫⲟⲣϫⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲉⲣⲁ̀ⲛⲁⲕⲣⲓⲛⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ.

فقال لهم دانيال: فرقوهما بعضهما عن بعض بعيداً فأحكم عليهما.

So when they were put asunder one from another, he called one of them, and said unto him, O thou that art waxen old in wickedness, now thy sins which thou hast committed aforetime are come to light. For thou hast pronounced false judgment and hast condemned the innocent and hast let the guilty go free; albeit the Lord saith, The innocent and righteous shalt thou not slay. Now then, if thou hast seen her, tell me, Under what tree sawest thou them companying together? Who answered, Under a mastick tree.

Ϩⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲫⲟⲣϫⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲁ̀ⲡⲁⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲒ̀ ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲕ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲕⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲕⲓ̀ⲣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϣⲟⲣⲡ. Ⲉⲕϯϩⲁⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϩⲁⲡ ⲛ̀ⲟ̀ϫⲓ ⲛⲓⲁⲑⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲕϩⲓⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲁⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲕⲭⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲑⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲑ̀ⲙⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲕϧⲟⲑⲃⲟⲩ. Ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲑⲁⲓ ⲁ̀ϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲧⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲁϣ ⲛ̀ϣ̀ϣⲏⲛ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϧⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲥⲭⲓⲛⲟⲛ.

فلما افترق الواحد عن الآخر دعا أحدهما وقال له: يا أيها المتعتق في الأيام الشريرة لقد أتت عليك خطاياك التي ارتكبتها تقضي قضاء ظلم تحكم على الأبرياء وتطلق المجرمين، وقد قال الرب أن البرئ والزكي لا تقتلهما، فالآن إن كنت قد رأيتهما فقل لي تحت أية شجرة رأيتهما يتحدثان، فقال: تحت الضروة.

And Daniel said, Very well; thou hast lied against thine own head; for even now the angel of God hath received the sentence of God to cut thee in two.

Ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ ϫⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲕϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲕⲥⲁⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲁ̀ⲫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ Ⲡⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲙ̀Ⲫϯ ⲉϥⲉ̀ⲫⲟⲣϫⲕ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲏϯ.

فقال دانيال لقد صوبت كذبك على رأسك فها هوذا ملاك الله قد أمر من لدن الله بأن يشقك شطرين.

So he put him aside, and commanded to bring the other, and said unto him, O thou seed of Chanaan, and not of Juda, beauty hath deceived thee, and lust hath perverted thine heart. Thus have ye dealt with the daughters of Israel, and they for fear companied with you: but the daughter of Juda would not abide your wickedness. Now therefore tell me, Under what tree didst thou take them companying together? Who answered, Under an holm tree.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲓ̀ⲛⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲭⲉⲧ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓϫ̀ⲣⲟϫ ⲛ̀Ⲭⲁⲛⲁⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁ Ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁ ⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲣϩⲁⲗ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ ϯⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ̀ ⲑⲱⲙ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ. Ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲁ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲛϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲙ̀Ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ⲛⲁⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧ̀ϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲛ̀Ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲉⲣϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲉⲛⲓⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ̀. Ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲁ̀ϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲧⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲟⲩⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲛ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϧⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲡ̀ⲣⲓⲛⲓⲟⲛ.

ثم عزله وأمر باقبال الآخر فقال له. يا نسب كنعان وليس يهوذا لقد فتنك الجمال واسلم الهوى قلبك إلى الفساد هكذا كنتما تصنعان مع بنات إسرائيل وكن يخفن أن يحدثنكما. أما بنت يهوذا فلم تحتمل فجوركما، والأن قل لي تحت أية شجرة صادفتهما يتحدثان ؟ فقال تحت سنديانة.

Then said Daniel unto him, Well; thou hast also lied against thine own head: for the angel of God waiteth with the sword to cut thee in two, that he may destroy you.

Ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲕ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲕϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲕⲥⲁⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲁ̀ⲫⲉ ϥ̀ⲟ̀ϩⲓ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲉⲣⲉ ϯⲥⲏϥⲓ ⲭⲏ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲥⲕ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲏϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲕⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲃ̅.

فقال له دانيال وأنت أيضاً قد صوبت كذبك على رأسك فملاك الله واقف وبيده سيف ليقطعك شطرين وليبيدكما أنتما الاثنين.

With that all the assembly cried out with a loud voice, and praised God, who saveth them that trust in him. And they arose against the two elders, for Daniel had convicted them of false witness by their own mouth: And according to the law of Moses they did unto them in such sort as they maliciously intended to do to their neighbour: and they put them to death. Thus the innocent blood was saved the same day.

Ⲁⲥⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ϯⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲥ̀ⲙⲟⲩ ⲉ̀Ⲫϯ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥⲃ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲓ̀ⲣⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲉⲣⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϣ̀ⲫⲏⲣ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̀Ⲙⲱⲩ̀ⲥⲏⲥ. Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϧⲟⲑⲃⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲥ̀ⲛⲟϥ ⲛ̀ⲁⲑⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ.

فصرخ المجمع كله بصوت عظيم واركوا الله مخلص الذين يرجونه وقاموا على الشيخين وقد أثبت دانيال من نطقهما انهما شهدا بالزور وصنعوا بهما كما نويا أن يصنعوا بالقريب عملاً بما في شريعة موسي فقتلوهما وخلص الدم الزكي في ذلك اليوم.

Therefore Chelcias and his wife praised God for their daughter Susanna, with Joacim her husband, and all the kindred, because there was no dishonesty found in her. From that day forth was Daniel had in great reputation in the sight of the people.

Ⲭⲉⲗⲕⲓⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲉϥⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲁⲩⲥ̀ⲙⲟⲩ ⲉ̀Ⲫϯ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲧⲟⲩϣⲉⲣⲓ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲓⲱⲁⲕⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥⲥⲩⲅⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲟⲩϩⲱⲃ ⲉϥϣⲏϣ ⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ ϧⲁ Ⲥⲟⲩⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲉϥϭⲓ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲥ. Ⲇⲁⲛⲓⲏⲗ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲙ̀ⲑⲟ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱϥ.

فسبح حلقيا وأمرأته الرب لأجل ابنتيهما مع يواقيم رجلها وذوى قرابتهم. لأنه لم يوجد في سوسنة شيء قبيح وعظم دانيال عند الشعب من ذلك اليوم فيما بعده.

But rather deal with us, according to Thy meekness, and according to Thy great mercy, O Lord help us.

May our prayers ascend unto Thee, O our Master, like burnt offerings of lambs, and fatted calves.

Do not forget the covenant, which Thou hast made with our fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, (Israel) Thine holy one.

Bless the Lord all you nations, the tribes and all kinds of tongues, Praise Him and glorify Him, above all forever.

Pray to the Lord on our behalf, O three saintly children, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that He may forgive us our sins.
