Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil; who make darkness light, and light darkness; who make bitter sweet, and sweet bitter. Woe to them that are wise in their own conceit, and knowing in their own sight. Woe to the strong ones of you that drink wine, and the mighty ones that mingle strong drink:

ويل للقائلين للخير شراً وللشر خيراً. الجاعلين الظلام نوراً والنور ظلاماً. القائلين عن الحلو مراً والمر حلواً. ويل للحكماء الذين هم فى أعين أنفسهم والفهماء عند ذاوتهم. ويل للأقوياء الذين يشربون الخمر. وللأبطال الذين يمزجون المسكر.

who justify the ungodly for rewards, and take away the righteousness of the righteous. Therefore as stubble shall be burnt by a coal of fire, and shall be consumed by a violent flame, their root shall be as chaff, and their flower shall go up as dust: for they rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, and insulted the word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore the Lord of hosts was greatly angered against his people, and he reached forth his hand upon them, and smote them: and the mountains were troubled, and their carcasses were as dung in the midst of the way: yet for all this his anger has not been turned away, but his hand is yet raised. Therefore shall he lift up a signal to the nations that are afar, and shall hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they are coming very quickly. They shall not hunger nor be weary, neither shall they slumber nor sleep; neither shall they loose their girdles from their loins, neither shall their shoe-latchets be broken. Whose arrows are sharp, and their bows bent; their horses’ hoofs are counted as solid rock: their chariot-wheels are as a storm.

الذين يبررون المنافق لأجل الرشوة. وينزعون حق البار. فلذلك كما يحترق البروبى (القش) بجمر النار. ويلتهب بلهيبه المشتعل. فهكذا يكون أصلهم كالغبار وزهرهم كالهشيم لأنهم رذلوا شريعة الله رب الجنود. وأغضبوا وأستهانوا بكلمة قدوس أسرائيل. فحمى غضب رب الصباؤوت على شعبه. ورفع يده عليهم ليضربهم. وسخط على الجبال وصارت جثث موتاهم مثل الزبل فى وسط الطريق. ومع هذا كله لم يرتد غضبه. بل يده لم تزل عالية ممدودة من أجل ذلك يرفع علامة للأمم من بعيد ويجتذبهم من أقاصى الأرض فأذا هم يأتون سريعاً بخفة. لا يجوعون ولا يتعبون. ولا ينعسون. ولا ينامون. ولا يحلون مناطقهم من أوساطهم. ولا تنقطع سيور أحذيتهم. هؤلاء الذين سهامهم مسنونة وقسيهم مشدودة ( موترة ) حوافر خيولهم كصخرة صلبة. وبكرات مراكبهم كالعاصف.

They rage as lions, and draw nigh as a lion’s whelps: and he shall seize, and roar as a wild beast, and he shall cast them forth, and there shall be none to deliver them. And he shall roar on account of them in that day, as the sound of the swelling sea; and they shall look to the land, and, behold, there shall be thick darkness in their perplexity.

يتقدمون كالأسد. ويمسك ويصيح كوحش ويطرح وليس من يخلص. ويصرخ عليهم فى ذلك اليوم كصوت البحر المتموح (الخضم). وينظرون إلى علو السماء وإلى أسفل الأرض فيجدوا ظلاماً شديداً. وظلمة مدلهمة. مجداً للثالوث الأقدس.

Who is the wise man, that he may understand this? and he that has the word of the mouth of the Lord addressed to him, let him tell you wherefore the land has been destroyed, has been ravaged by fire like a desert, so that no one passes through it. And the Lord said to me, Because they have forsaken my law, which I set before them, and have not hearkened to my voice; but went after the lusts of their evil heart, and after the idols which their fathers taught them to worship:

من هو الأنسان الحكيم فليفهم هذا. والذى عنده كلام فم الرب فليخبركم. لماذا هلكت الأرض وأحترقت وصارت كبرية بلا عابر. فقال لى الرب. لأنهم تركوا ناموسى عنهم الذى جعلته أمامهم. ولم يسمعوا لصوتى. بل ساروا وراء عناد قلوبهم الشريرة. وسلكوا وراء الأصنام. التى عامهم أياها أباؤهم.

therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them with trouble and will cause them to drink water of gall: and I will scatter them among the nations, to them whom neither they nor their fathers knew; and I will send a sword upon them, until I have consumed them with it. Thus saith the Lord, Call ye the mourning women, and let them come; and send to the wise women, and let them utter their voice; and let them take up a lamentation for you, and let your eyes pour down tears, and your eyelids drop water. For a voice of lamentation has been heard in Sion.

لذلك قال الرب أله إسرائيل.هأنذا أطعمهم خبز الضيق وأسقيهم العلقم. وأشتتهم فى الأمم التى لم يعرفوها هم ولا أباؤهم. وأرسل عليهم سيفاً حتى أفنيهم به. هذا ما يقوله الرب. أدعوا النساء النائحات ليأتين وأرسلوا إلى الحكيمات ليفتحن أفواههن بالكلام لينشدن عليكم نوحاً. ولتسكب عيونكم دموعاً. ولتفض أجفانكم ماء. لأنه قد سمع صوت النوح فى صهيون.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

ولم يدع أحد ينقل متاعاً إلى الهيكل.

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

وكان يعلم قائلاً لهم أليس مكتوباً أن بيتى بيت صلاة يدعى لجميع الأمم. وأنتم جعلتموه مغارة للصوص.

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. And when even was come, he went out of the city.

On the evening of Palm Sunday our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ went with his disciples outside the city. He felt hungary and said I want something to eat. He saw a fig tree afar and went to it seeking some of its fruits. He found it fruitless. He condemned the tree and it dried from its roots. The disciples were taken by the incident and said to the Lord: the fig tree withered. Keep faith in your hearts and you shall be granted your requests. Do not be surprised that by one signle word, the fig tree dried from its roots up. Because, if you have faith in your hearts you can transfer the mountain from its location. Come all you ignorant and see what happened to the fig tree and present the Lord with good fruits to save yourselves from the evil. Repent all you indolent so that you may receive forgiveness. Clean your faces with many tears because tears wipe out sins. Light your lamps with virtues so that their light may shine upon you in the day of judgement. Share the suffering with your brother and remember how the Lord suffered for our salvation.

في عشية يوم الشعانين أتى خارج المدينة مع تلآميذه. أعني المسيح إلهنا يسوع المخلص فجاع وقال أطلب طعاماً. فرأى شجرة تين من بعيد فأتي إليها يطلب ثمراً فيها فوجد ورقاً بغير ثمر فلعنها فيبست من أصلها. فتعجب جميع تلاميذه وقالوا للرب: أن شجرة التين يبست. ضعوا الإيمان في قلوبكم وكل شئ يسمع منكم ولا تتعجبوا من شجرة التين هذه أنها بكلمة واحدة يبست من أصلها. فإذا كان في قلوبكم أيمان لنقلتم هذا الجبل من مكانه. تعالوا وأنظروا أيها الناس الجهال ما كان من شجرة التين هذه، وأصنعوا ثمره صالحة للرب لكي تخلصوا من الشرير، وأصنعوا توبة أيها الكسالى لكى تنالوا الغفران، وأغسلوا وجوهكم بدموع غزيره فإن الدموع تمحى الآثام، وأوقدوا مصابيحكم بالفضائل لتضئ عليكم في الحكم. تالم مع أخيك وأنظر الرب كيف تألم عنا حتى خلصنا.
