Prayer of Reconciliation for the Son

The priest stands in front of the sanctuary facing the east while holding the censer, asks the deacon to start the prayer and says

Pray.

Ϣ̀ⲗⲏⲗ.

صل.

Deacon

Stand up for prayer.

Ⲉⲡⲓ ⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲥ̀ⲧⲁⲑⲏⲧⲉ.

للصلاة قفوا.

The priest looks towards the congregation and says

Peace be with all.

Ⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲡⲁⲥⲓ.

السلام للكل.

Deacon

And with your spirit.

Ⲕⲉ ⲧⲱ ⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲧⲓ ⲥⲟⲩ.

ولروحك أيضا.

Priest

O Thou Who exists, Who was existing, Who is lasting forever; the Eternal, the One in Essence, the Co-Equal and Co-Creator with the Father.

Ⲫⲏⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲛⲁϥϣⲟⲡ: ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲙⲏⲛ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲁⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ: ⲡⲓⲁⲓⲇⲓⲟⲥ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲟ̀ⲙⲟⲟⲩⲥⲓⲟⲥ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲥⲩⲛⲑ̀ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ϣ̀ⲫⲏⲣ ⲛ̀ⲇⲩⲙⲓⲟⲩⲣⲅⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲫ̀ⲓⲱⲧ.

أيها الكائن الذى كان الدائم إلى الأبد. الذاتى والمساوى والجليس. والخالق مع الآب.

Who, for the sake of goodness only, formed man out of what existed not, and put him in the paradise of joy.

Ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲥ: ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲁϥϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲕⲑ̀ⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲫ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕⲭⲁϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲣⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡ̀ⲟⲩⲛⲟϥ.

الذى من أجل الصلاح وحده مما لم يكن كونت الإنسان وجعلته فى فردوس النعيم.

And when he fell, through the guile of the enemy and disobedience of Thine holy commandment, and Thou desiredst to renew him, and to restore him to his first estate.

Ϧⲉⲛ ⲡ̀ⲇⲓⲛⲑ̀ⲣⲉϥϩⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲁ̀ⲡⲁⲧⲏ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓϫⲁϫⲓ: ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁ ⲧⲉⲕⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ⲁⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉ̀ⲁⲓϥ ⲙ̀ⲃⲉⲣⲓ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ⲉⲛϥ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲁⲝⲓⲱ̀ⲙⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ϣⲟⲣⲡ.

وعندما سقط بغاوية العدو ومخالفة وصيتك المقدسة وأردت أن تجدده وترده إلى رتبته الأولى.

Neither an angel, nor and archangel, nor a patriarch, nor a prophet, have Thou chargedst with our salvation.

Ⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ: ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲁⲣⲭⲏⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ: ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡⲁⲣⲓⲁⲣⲭⲏⲥ: ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ: ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ.

لا ملاك ولا رئيس ملائكة ولا رئيس آباء ولا نبى إئتمنتهم على خلاصنا.

But Thou, without change, were incarnate and became man, and resembled us in everything, save for sin only.

Ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲫⲱⲛϩ ⲁⲕϭⲓⲥⲁⲣⲝ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕⲓ̀ⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ: ϣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ.

بل أنت بغير إستحالة تجسدت وتأنست. وأشبهتنا فى كل شئ ما خلا الخطية وحدها.

And Thou becamest for us a Mediator with the Father; and the middle wall Thou hast broken down, and the old enmity Thou hast abolished.

Ⲁⲕϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲉⲥⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲫ̀ⲓⲱⲧ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯϫⲓⲛⲑ̀ⲙⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲑⲱⲙ ⲁⲕⲃⲟⲗⲥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯⲙⲉⲧϫⲁϫⲓ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲡⲁⲥ ⲁⲕϣⲉⲣϣⲱⲣⲥ.

وصرت لنا وسيطاً مع الآب. والحاجز المتوسط نقضته. والعداوة القديمة هدمتها.

Thou reconciled the earthly with the heavenly, and made the two into one, and fulfilled the economy in the flesh.

Ⲁⲕϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲛ̀ⲛⲁ ⲡ̀ⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ̀: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕⲉⲣ ⲡⲓⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲁⲓ: ⲉ̀ⲁⲕϫⲱⲕ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ϯⲟⲓⲕⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ̀ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧ̀ⲥⲁⲣⲝ.

وأصلحت الأرضيين مع السمائيين وجعلت الإثنين واحداً. وأكملت التدبير بالجسد.

And at Thine ascension into the heavens in the body, having filled all with Thy Divinity.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕⲛⲁϣⲉⲛⲁⲕ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ ⲉ̀ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ̀ ⲥⲱⲙⲁⲧⲓⲕⲱⲥ: ⲉⲁⲕⲙⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϯ.

وعند صعودك إلى السموات جسدياً إذ ملأت الكل بلاهوتك.

Thou said to Thine holy disciples and apostles:

Ⲛⲁⲕϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲕⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ.

قلت لتلاميذك ورسلك القديسين.

“My peace I give to you, My peace I leave with you.”

Ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ϯϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ: ⲧⲁϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲭⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ.

سلامى أعطيكم. سلامى أنا أترك لكم.

The same grant us now also, O our Master.

Ⲑⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲁ̀ⲣⲓϩ̀ⲙⲟⲧ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲏⲃ.

هذا أيضاً الآن أنعم به لنا يا سيدنا.

And cleanse us from all blemishes, all guile, all hypocrisy, all evil, all malice, and the remembrance of evil entailing death.

وطهرنا من كل دنس. ومن كل غش. ومن كل رياء. ومن كل شر. ومن كل مكيدة. ومن تذكار الشر الملبس الموت.

And make us all worthy, O our Master, to greet one another with a holy kiss.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ̀ⲣⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲉⲙⲡ̀ϣⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲏⲃ: ⲉⲑⲣⲉⲛⲉⲣⲁⲥⲡⲁⲍⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲛⲉ̀ⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲫⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲃ.

وإجعلنا مستحقين كلنا يا سيدنا أن نقبل بعضنا بعضاً بقبلة طاهرة.

That, without falling into condemnation, we may partake of Thine immortal and heavenly gift.

Ⲉⲡ̀ϫⲓⲛⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲁⲡ: ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲇⲱⲣⲉⲁ̀ ⲛ̀ⲁⲑⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲉ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲁⲛⲓⲟⲛ.

لنتناول بغير إنطراح فى الحكم من موهبتك غير المائتة السمائية.

Through Thy grace and the goodwill of Thy Good Father, and the work of Thine Holy Spirit.

Ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫⲱⲕ ⲛ̀ϩ̀ⲙⲟⲧ: ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡ̀ϯⲙⲁϯ ⲙ̀Ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ: ⲛⲉⲙ ϯϫⲓⲛⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ Ⲡⲉⲕⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ.

بنعمتك ومسرة أبيك الصالح. وفعل روحك القدوس.

For Thou art the provider, and the giver of all good things.

Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫ̀ⲣⲉϥϯ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.

لأنك أنت الرازق ومعطى جميع الخيرات.

And Thou art He unto whom we ascribe the glory, the honour and the worship, together with Thy Good Father and the Holy Spirit, the Life-Giver who is of one essence with Thee.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲱ̀ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲧⲁⲓⲟ̀ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲥⲕⲩⲛⲏⲥⲓⲥ: ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ: ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ ⲟⲩⲟ ⲛ̀ⲟⲙⲟⲟⲩⲥⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲕ.

وأنت الذى نرسل لك إلى فوق المجد والإكرام والسجود مع أبيك الصالح والروح القدس المحيى المساوى لك.

Now, and at all times, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
