Prayer of the Pauline Incense

The priest signs the incense box five times and adds three scoops of incense as explained in the Matins Incense. The priest stands in front of the sanctuary facing the east while holding the censer, asks the deacon to start the prayer and says

Pray.

Ϣ̀ⲗⲏⲗ.

صل.

Deacon

Stand up for prayer.

Ⲉⲡⲓ ⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲥ̀ⲧⲁⲑⲏⲧⲉ.

للصلاة قفوا.

Priest

Peace be with all.

Ⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲡⲁⲥⲓ.

السلام للكل.

Deacon

And with your spirit.

Ⲕⲉ ⲧⲱ ⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲧⲓ ⲥⲟⲩ.

ولروحك أيضا.

O God the great and the eternal, without beginning and without end, great in His counsel and mighty in His works, who is in all places, dwells with every one.

يا الله العظيم الأبدى الذى بلا بداية ولا نهاية العظيم فى مشورته والقوى فى أفعاله الذى هو فى كل مكان وكائن مع كل أحد.

Be with us also, our Master, in this hour and stand in the midst of us all.

كن معنا نحن ايضاً يا سيدنا فى هذه الساعة وقف فى وسطنا كلنا.

Purify our hearts and sanctify our souls. Cleanse us from all sins which we have done willingly and unwillingly.

طهر قلوبنا وقدس أنفسنا ونقنا من كل خطايانا التى صنعناها بإرادتنا وبغير إرادتنا.

And grant to us to offer before Thee rational sacrifices and sacrifices of blessing.

وامنحنا أن نقدم أمامك ذبائح ناطقة وصعائد بركة.

صلوا من أجل ذبيحتنا والذين قدموها.

And spiritual incense entering within the veil in the holy place of Thine holies.

The priest continues with the three short prayers of the peace, the fathers and the congregation as shown on page 9. Then he offers incense as shown on page 22 in preparation for the Pauline Epistle.
