Supplication of the Great Lent

The priest says

We bend our knees.

The father, the Pantocrator.

إرحمنا يا الله الآب ضابط الكل.

The congregation worships and says

Have mercy, O God, and have mercy.

Ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ Ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ.

إرحمنا يا الله ثم إرحمنا.

The priest starts the supplication and says

O Thou, who art long-suffering, abundant in mercy and true, receive our prayers and supplications, receive our petitions, repentance and confession upon Thine holy undefiled altar in heaven.

أيها الطويل الأناة الكثير الرحمة الحقيقى أقبل سؤالاتنا وطلباتنا منا. أقبل ابتهالاتنا وتوبتنا واعترافنا على مذبحك المقدس غير الدنس السمائى.

May we be made worthy to hear Thine holy gospel and may we keep Thy precepts and commandments.

فلنستحق سماع أناجيلك المقدسة ونحفظ وصاياك وأوامرك.

And bring forth fruit therein a hundred-fold, sixty-fold and thirty-fold, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ونثمر فيها مائة وستين وثلاثين بالمسيح يسوع ربنا.

Remember, O Lord the sick of Thy people that Thou hast visited them with mercies and compassion, heal them.

أذكر يارب الذين قدموا لك هذه القرابين والذين قدمت عنهم والذين قدمت بواسطتهم، اعطهم كلهم الأجر السمائى.

صلوا من أجل الموعوظين.

Ⲕⲩⲣⲓⲉ̀ ⲉ̀ⲗⲉⲏ̀ⲥⲟⲛ.

يا رب ارحم.

Priest

Confirm their faith in Thee.

Ⲙⲁⲧⲁϫⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲕ.

ثبتهم فى الإيمان بك.

Uproot all traces of idolatry from their hearts.

Ⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲙϣⲉ ⲓ̀ⲇⲱⲇⲟⲛ: ϩⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ.

كل بقية عبادة الأوثان انزعها من قلوبهم.

Thy law, Thy fear, Thy commandments, Thy truths, and Thine holy precepts, establish in their hearts.

Ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲉⲕϩⲟϯ ⲛⲉⲕⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲉⲕⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲕⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ: ⲙⲁⲧⲁϫⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ.

ناموسك، خوفك، وصاياك، حقوقك، أوامرك المقدسة ثبتها فى قلوبهم.

Grant that they know the steadfastness of the preaching they have received.

Ⲙⲏⲓⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲡ̀ⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣⲕⲁⲧⲏⲭⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ.

أمنحهم أن يعرفوا قوة الكلام الذى وعظوا به.

And in the set time, may they be worthy of the washing of the new birth for the remission of their sins.

Ϯⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲑⲏϣ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩⲉⲣⲡ̀ⲉⲙⲡ̀ϣⲁ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓϫⲱⲕⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁ̀ϩⲉⲙ ⲙⲓⲥⲓ: ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲭⲱ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲃⲓ.

وفى الزمان المحدد فليستحقوا حميم الميلاد الجديد لغفران خطاياهم.

As Thou prepare them to be a temple of Thine Holy Spirit.

Ⲉⲕⲥⲟⲃϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ.

إذ تعدهم هيكلاً لروحك القدوس.

Then the curtains of the sancturies are opened and the candles of the altar are lit.
