Absolution of the Son

The priest covers the bread and the grape wine with corporals, then he covers them both with the prospherin with the help of the deacon, and then puts another corporal on top of it. The priest bows down towards the east and kisses the altar. Then he moves to the northern side of the altar where the deacon bows before the priest. The priest blesses the deacon and they both kiss the altar and proceed around it. They both step down from the sanctuary with their left foot while facing the east. Then, during the Liturgy of St. Basil, the priest or the high priest, if present, stands behind all the other servants and says inaudibly

Master, Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-Begotten Son and Logos of God the Father, Who has broken every bond of our sins through His saving, life-giving sufferings.

Ⲫ̀ⲛⲏⲃ Ⲡ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅: ⲡⲓⲙⲟⲛⲟⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⲛ̀Ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲗⲟⲅⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ Ⲫϯ Ⲫ̀ⲓⲱⲧ: ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲗⲡ ⲛ̀ⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩϩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲛⲟⲃⲓ: ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲙ̀ⲕⲁⲩϩ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ.

أيها السيد الرب يسوع المسيح ابن الله الوحيد وكلمة الآب الذى قطع كل رباطات خطايانا من قبل آلامه المخلصة المحيية.

Who breathed into the face of His holy Disciples and saintly Apostles, and said to them:

Ⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥⲛⲓϥⲓ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡ̀ϩⲟ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉϥⲁ̀ⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲉ̀ⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ.

الذى نفخ فى وجه تلاميذه القديسين ورسله الأطهار، وقال لهم:

“Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins ye will remit, they are remitted to them, and those which ye will retain, they shall be retained.”

Ϫⲉ ϭⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ: ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲭⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲉⲭⲏ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲁ̀ⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲁ̀ⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ.

اقبلوا الروح القدس، من غفرتم لهم خطاياهم غفرت ومن أمسكتموها عليهم أمسكت.

Thou also now, our Master, through Thine holy Apostles, hast given grace to those who for a time laboured in the priesthood in Thine Holy Church, to forgive sin upon the earth, and to bind and to loose every bond of iniquity.

Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ Ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲏⲃ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲕⲁ̀ⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉ̅ⲑ̅ⲩ̅: ⲁⲕⲉⲣϩ̀ⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏⲃ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲉⲕⲕ̀ⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ̀ ⲉ̅ⲑ̅ⲩ̅: ⲉ̀ⲭⲁ ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ⲥⲱⲛϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲱⲗ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩϩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ϯⲁ̀ⲇⲓⲕⲓⲁ̀.

أنت الآن أيضا يا سيدنا من قبل رسلك الأطهار أنعمت على الذين يعملون فى الكهنوت كل زمان فى كنيستك المقدسة أن يغفروا الخطايا على الأرض ويربطوا ويحلوا كل رباطات الظلم.

Now, also, we ask and entreat Thy Goodness, Lover of mankind, for Thy servants (…).
