Prayer of the Bread Offering

While the congregation says “Saved, Amen…,” the priest says the prayer of the bread offering inaudibly

Master, Lord Jesus Christ, the co-eternal Logos of the unblemished Father who is of one essence with him and the Holy Spirit.

Ⲫ̀ⲛⲏⲃ Ⲡ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅: ⲡⲓϣ̀ⲫⲏⲣ ⲛ̀ⲁⲓⲗⲓⲟⲥ: ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲗⲟⲅⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲧⲑⲱⲗⲉⲃ Ⲫ̀ⲓⲱⲧ: ⲛ̀ⲟ̀ⲙⲟⲟⲩⲥⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ.

أيها السيد الرب يسوع المسيح الشريك الذاتى وكلمة الآب غير الدنس المساوى له مع الروح القدس.

For Thou art the living bread which came down from heaven.

Ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϧ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥⲓ̀ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧ̀ⲫⲉ.

أنت هو الخبز الحى الذى نزل من السماء.

And Thou did aforetime make Thyself a Lamb without spot, for the life of the world.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲭⲁⲕ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩϩⲓⲏⲃ ⲛ̀ⲁⲧⲁϭⲛⲓ: ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲡ̀ⲱⲛϧ ⲡ̀ⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.

سبقت أن تجعل ذاتك حملاً بلا عيب عن حياة العالم.

We ask and entreat Thy Goodness, O Lover of mankind.

Ⲧⲛⲉϯϩⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲃϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲉⲧⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲡⲓⲙⲁⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ.

نسأل ونطلب من صلاحك يا محب البشر.

The priest points with his hand to the bread set before him on the paten and says

Show Thy face upon this bread.

Ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲕϩⲟ ⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⲫⲁⲓ.

اظهر وجهك على هذا الخبز.

The priest points to the grape wine set before him in the chalice and says

And upon this cup.

Ⲛⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁ̀ⲫⲟⲧ ⲫⲁⲓ.

وعلى هذه الكأس.

Then he continues

Which we have set upon.

Ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲛⲭⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ.

هذين اللذين وضعناهما علي.

The priest points to the altar and says

This, Thy priestly table.

Ⲧⲁⲓⲧ̀ⲣⲁⲡⲉⲍⲁ ⲛ̀ⲓⲉⲣⲁⲧⲓⲕⲏ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲕ ⲑⲁⲓ.

هذه المائدة الكهنوتية التى لك.

The priest signs the bread and the grape wine together with the sign of the cross three times. In the first time, he says

Bless them.

Ⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ.

باركهما.

In the second time, he says

Sanctify them.

Ⲁⲣⲓⲁ̀ⲅⲓⲁ̀ ⲍⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ.

قدسهما.

In the third time, he says

Purify them and change them.

Ⲙⲁⲧⲟⲩⲃⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲟⲑⲃⲟⲩ.

طهرهما وانقلهما.

The priest points with his hand to the bread and says

In order that this bread, on the one hand may become indeed Thine holy Body.

Ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲥⲱⲙ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ.

لكى هذا الخبز يصير جسدك المقدس.

The priest points with his hand to the grape wine in the chalice and says

And the mixture on the other hand, which is in this cup, indeed Thy precious Blood.

Ⲡⲓⲑⲱⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲁ̀ⲫⲟⲧ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲓ ⲡⲉⲕⲥ̀ⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ.

وهذا المزيج الذى فى هذه الكأس يصير دمك الكريم.

The priest continues

And may they become for all of us a partaking, healing, and salvation of our souls, our bodies and our spirits.

Ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲁⲗⲩⲙⲯⲓⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲗϭⲟ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣⲓⲁ̀: ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲛⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ.

وليكونا لنا جميعاً ارتقاء وشفاء وخلاصاً لأنفسنا وأجسادنا وأرواحنا.

For Thou art our God and glory is due unto Thee with Thy Good Father and the Holy Spirit, the Life-Giver who is of one essence with Thee.

Ϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ Ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ: ⲉ̀ⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲱ̀ⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲡ̀ⲣⲉⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ: ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉ̀ⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲟ̀ⲙⲟⲟⲩⲥⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲕ.

لأنك أنت هو إلهنا الذى يليق بك المجد مع أبيك الصالح والروح القدس المحيى المساوى لك.

Now, and at all times, and unto the age of all ages. Amen.

Ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛ̀ⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ϣⲁ ⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ: ⲁ̀ⲙⲏⲛ.

الآن وكل أوان وإلى دهر الدهور كلها آمين.
