Paul, the servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, who was separated unto the preaching of God.

بولس عبد ربنا يسوع المسيح الرسول المدعو المفرز لتبشير الله.

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen

وَأَمَّا مِنْ جِهَتِي، فَحَاشَا لِي أَنْ أَفْتَخِرَ إِلاَّ بِصَلِيبِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، الَّذِي بِهِ قَدْ صُلِبَ الْعَالَمُ لِي وَأَنَا لِلْعَالَمِ. لأَنَّهُ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ لَيْسَ الْخِتَانُ يَنْفَعُ شَيْئاً وَلاَ الْغُرْلَةُ، بَلِ الْخَلِيقَةُ الْجَدِيدَةُ. فَكُلُّ الَّذِينَ يَسْلُكُونَ بِحَسَبِ هَذَا الْقَانُونِ عَلَيْهِمْ سَلاَمٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ، وَعَلَى إِسْرَائِيلِ اللهِ. فِي مَا بَعْدُ لاَ يَجْلِبُ أَحَدٌ عَلَيَّ أَتْعَاباً، لأَنِّي حَامِلٌ فِي جَسَدِي سِمَاتِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ. نِعْمَةُ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ مَعَ رُوحِكُمْ أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ. آمِينَ.

O Thou who on the sixth day, and at the sixth hour, was nailed to the Cross because of the presumptuousness of Adam’s sin in Paradise; tear asunder the handwriting of our sins, O Christ our God, and save us.

يا من فى اليوم السادس وفى الساعة السادسة سمرت على الصليب، من أجل الخطية التي تجرأ عليها أبونا أدم فى الفردوس، مزّق صك خطايانا أيها المسيح إلهنا وخلصنا.

The congregation replies with the same response. Then the priest says

I cried out unto God and the Lord heard me. O Lord, answer my prayer and do not dismiss my supplication.

Attend to me and hear me in the evening, in the morning, and at mid-day. I will plead with the Lord and He will hear my voice and peacefully save my soul.

O Jesus Christ our God, Who was nailed to the cross at the sixth hour and has slain sin by the tree, and hast by Thy death given life to the dead, even to man, whom Thou hast created with Thine own hands, and who was dead in sin. Slay our sufferings by Thy saving and life-giving passion. And by the nails wherewith Thou wast nailed, deliver our minds from the recklessness of insubstantial works and wordly lusts, to the remembrance of Thine heavenly judgements, according to Thy tender mercies.

يا يسوع المسيح إلهنا الذي سمرتَ على الصليب فى الساعة السادسة، وقتلت الخطية بالخشبة، وأحييت الميت بموتك، الذي هو الإنسان الذي خلقته بيديك، الذي مات بالخطية. اقتل أوجاعنا بآلامك الشافية المحيية، وبالمسامير التي سمرت بها، أنقذ عقولنا من طياشة الأعمال الهيولية والشهوات العالمية، إلى تذكر أحكامك السمائية كرأفتك.

In as much as we have no boldness, excuse, or plea because of the multitude of our sins, we entreat, through thee, O Virgin, Birthgiver of God, Him to whom thou gave birth. For abundant is thy intercession, and acceptable to our Saviour. O spotless Mother, reject us not, sinners, in thy intercession with Him to whom thou gave birth. For He is merciful and mighty is He to save us, because He suffered for us, to deliver us. Let Thy tender mercies come quickly upon us for we have become exceedingly poor; help us, O God our Saviour, for the glory of Thy Name. O Lord save us and forgive our sins of the sake of Thy Holy Name.

إذ ليس لنا دالة ولا حجة ولا معذرة من أجل كثرة خطايانا، فنحن بك نتوسل إلى الذي ولد منك يا والدة الإله العذراء. لأن كثيرة هي شفاعتك، قوية ومقبولة عند مخلصنا. أيتها الأم الطاهرة، لا ترفضني الخطاة من شفاعتك عند الذي ولد منك، لأنه رحوم وقادر على خلاصنا، لأنه تألم من أجلنا لكي ينقذنا، فلتدركنا رأفتك سريعا لأننا قد تمسكنَّا جدا. أعنا يا الله مخلصنا من أجل مجد اسمك. يا رب نجنا واغفر لنا خطايانا، من أجل اسمك القدوس.

صنعت خلاصا فى وسط الأرض كلها أيها المسيح إلهنا، عندما بسطت يديك الطاهرتين على عود الصليب. فلهذا كل الأمم تصرخ قائلة: المجد لك يا رب.

We worship Thine incorrupted form, O Good-one, asking forgiveness of our sins, O Christ our God. For of Thine own goodwill, Thou wast pleased to ascend to the cross, to deliver those whom Thou hast created from the bondage of the enemy. We cry out, and give thanks of Thee for Thou hast filled all with joy, O Saviour, when Thou came to rescue the world, Lord glory be to Thee.

نسجد لشخصك غير الفاسد أيها الصالح، طالبين مغفرة خطايانا أيها المسيح إلهنا. لأن بمشيئتك سررت أن تصعد على الصليب، لتنجي الذين خلقتهم من عبودية العدو. نصرخ إليك ونشكرك لأنك ملأت الكل فرحا، أيها المخلص لما أتيت لتعين العالم، يا رب المجد لك.

Thou art full of grace, O Virgin Birthgiver of God. We magnify thee for through the Cross of thy Son Hades was humbled and death despoiled. And we that were dead are raised up and made worthy of eternal life and obtained the bliss of the first Paradise. Wherefore, with thanksgiving we glorify Him, the Immortal Christ Our God.

أنت هي الممتلئة نعمة يا والدة الإله العذراء. نعظمك لأن من قبل صليب ابنك انهبط الجحيم وبطل الموت. أمواتا كنا فنهضنا، واستحققنا الحياة الأبدية، ونلنا نعيم الفردوس الأول. من أجل هذا نمجد بشكر غيرَ المائت المسيح إلهنا.

O Only-begotten Son, the Eternal and Immortal Word of God; who for our salvation did will to be incarnate of the Holy Theotokos and (ever virgin Mary.) (2)

Who without change became Man and was crucified, O Christ God.

بغير إستحالة المتأنس المصلوب المسيح الإله.

Trampled down death by death, One of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit, save us.

بالموت داس الموت. أحد الثالوث المقدس الممجد مع الآب والروح القدس خلصنا.

O King of kings, Christ our God, Lord of Lords, as Thou remembered the thief who believed on Thee, on the cross, remember us also in Thy kingdom.

يا ملك الملوك المسيح الهنا ورب الأرباب كما ذكرت اللص الذى آمن بك على الصليب، اذكرنا فى ملكوتك.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

Who has ever seen a thief believing in a king? Like this thief who by his faith stole the kingdom of heaven and the paradise of joy.

من رأى لصاً آمن بملك مثل هذا اللص الذى بأمانته سرق ملكوت السماوات وفردوس النعيم.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

Because of your deeds, O thief, you were hung on the cross as the condemned. Through your faith, you deserved the grace, joy, and the kingdom of heaven and the paradise of joy.

من أجل أعمالك أيها اللص علقت على الصليب كالمذنبين وبإيمانك استحقيت النعمة والفرح وملكوت السموات وفردوس النعيم.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

Blessed are you O blessed thief and your good tongue by which you were truly made worthy of the kingdom of heaven and the paradise of joy.

طوباك انت ايها اللص الطوباوى ولسانك الحسن المنطق الذى به تأهلت بالحقيقة لملكوت السموات وفردوس النعيم.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

O blessed thief, what did you see and what did you observe, that you confessed the Crucified Christ in the flesh, the King of Heaven and God of all.

ايها اللص الطوباوى ماذا رأيت وماذا ابصرت حتى اعترفت بالمسيح المصلوب بالجسد ملك السماء وإله الكل.

You did not see Christ God glorified on Mount Tabor in the glory of His Father, but you did see Him hung in the Kranion, you cried out saying:

ما رأيت المسيح الإله متجلياً على طور طابور فى مجد أبيه بل رأيته معلقاً على الاقرانيون فلوقتك صرخت قائلاً:

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

You believed when you saw the heaven and the earth shake; the sun and moon darken; the dead rising, and the rocks cracked, and the curtain of the altar rent, wherefore you cried out saying:

آمنت لما رأيت السماء والأرض اضطربتا والشمس والقمر اظلمتا والأموات قامت والصخور تشققت وستر الهيكل انشق فلوقتك صرخت قائلاً.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

“Verily, verily, I say to you,” said the Lord, “O thief, today you will be with Me in my Paradise and inherit my kingdom.” The disciple denied and the thief cried out saying:

الحق الحق اقول لك قال الرب، أيها اللص انك انت اليوم تكون معى فى فردوسى وترث ملكوتي. التلميذ انكر واللص صرخ قائلاً:

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

Blessed are you O Demas, the thief more than everyone on the earth, for you have gained a way no one gained. All your age you were a thief in Jerusalem’s forests and one word you said to the Lord and He sent you to paradise.

طوباك أنت يا ديماس اللص أكثر من كل من على الأرض لأنك نلت وسيلة لم ينلها أحد قط كل زمانك أقمت لصاً فى غابات أورشليم وكلمة واحدة قلت للرب فارسلك إلى الفردوس.

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

When they crucified our Saviour on the cross, they crucified two thieves with Him, one on His right and one on His left. And Demas, the thief on the right, cried and said:

كان لما صلب مخلصنا على خشبة الصليب، صلبوا معه لصين عن يمينه ويساره. فصرخ ديماس اللص اليمين قائلاً:

The congregation says the refrain. Then the priest says

Our Savior said to Him, “Today, shalt thou be with Me in Paradise.”

قال له مخلصنا أنك اليوم تكون معى فى فردوسى وتتنعم فيه.

We beseech Him who was crucified on the cross and shed His divine blood for us and trampled death by His death to forgive us our sins and keep the life of our father the Patriarch Pope (…) and the lives of my fathers who are gathered here in this church from the youngest to the eldest. Say all of you. Amen. Amen. Amen.

ونحن نطلب إلى الذى رفع على خشبة الصليب وبذل دمه الإلهى عنا وابطل الموت بموته أن يغفر خطايانا ويحفظ لنا حياة الآب البطريرك البابا (شنودة) وسادتى الآباء المجتمعين فى هذه البيعة من صغيرهم إلى كبيرهم قولوا كلكم. آمين. آمين. آمين.

Blessed are you O Demas, the thief, more than everyone on the earth, for you have gained a way no one gained.

When they crucified our Saviour on the cross, they crucified two thieves with Him, one on His right and one on His left.

كان لما صلب مخلصنا على خشبة الصليب، صلبوا معه لصين عن يمينه ويساره.

And Demas, the thief on the right, cried out saying, “Remember me O Lord when Thou comest into Thy kingdom.”

قال له مخلصنا انك اليوم تكون معى فى فردوسى وتتنعم فيه.

We beseech Him who was crucified on the cross and shed His divine blood for us and trampled death by His death to forgive us our sins.

ونحن نطلب إلى الذى رفع على خشبة الصليب وبذل دمه الإلهى عنا وابطل الموت بموته أن يغفر خطايانا.

And to keep for us the life of my fathers who are gathered here in this church. Amen.
