Psalms

From the psalms of teacher David the prophet, may his blessings be with us. Amen.

من مزامير معلمنا داود النبي بركاته المقدسة تكون معنا. آمين.

O Lord, why are they that afflict me multiplied? many rise up against me. Many say concerning my soul, There is no deliverance for him in his God. Pause. But thou, O Lord, art my helper: my glory, and the one that lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy mountain.

يَارَبُّ لماذَا كَثُرَ الذِينَ يُحزْنُونِى، كَثِيرونَ قامُوا علىَّ. كَثِيرونَ يقُولُونَ لِنفْسِى، لَيسَ لَهُ خَلاصٌ بإلَهِهِ. أنْتَ يارَبّ أنْتَ هُو نَاصِرِى، مَجْدِى ورَافِعُ رَأسِى. بصَوْتى إلَى الرَّبِّ صَرخْتُ. فإسْتَجابَ لِى مِنْ جَبَلِ قُدْسه.

I lay down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord will help me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, who beset me round about. Arise, Lord; deliver me, my God: for thou hast smitten all who were without cause mine enemies; thou hast broken the teeth of sinners. Deliverance is the Lord’s, and thy blessing is upon thy people. Alleluia.

أنَا إضْطَجَعتُ ونِمْتُ، ثمَّ إسْتَيقظْتُ لأنَّ الرَّبَّ نَاصِرى. فَلاَ أخَافَ مِنْ رَبَوات الَجُمُوع المُحِيطِينَ بى القَائميِنَ عَلَىِّ. قُمْ يَارَبّ خلِّصْنِى يَا إلَهِى، لأنَّكَ ضَرَبْتَ كُلَّ مِنْ يُعادِينى بَاطِلاً. أسْنانُ الخُطاةِ سَحَقَتْها. للرَّبِّ الخَلاَص وعَلَى شَعبِه بَرَكتهُ. هَلِّلُويا.

O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath, neither chasten me in thine anger. Pity me, O Lord; for I am weak: heal me, O Lord; for my bones are vexed. My soul also is grievously vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long? Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: save me for thy mercy’s sake. For in death no man remembers thee: and who will give thee thanks in Hades? I am wearied with my groaning; I shall wash my bed every night; I shall water my couch with tears. Mine eye is troubled because of my wrath; I am worn out because of all my enemies.

يَاربُّ لا تُبكِّتْنِى بغَضَبكَ، ولا تُؤدِّبْنِى بسَخَطكَ. إرْحَمنِى يَاربُّ فإنِّى ضَعِيفٌ، إشْفِنِى يارَبُّ فإنَّ عِظَامِى قَد إضْطَربَتْ ونَفْسِى قدِ إنْزَعجَت جِدّاً. وأنْتَ يَاربُّ فإلَى مَتَى؟ عُدْ ونَجِّى نَفْسى، وأحْيِنِى مِنْ أجْلِ رَحْمتكَ. لأنَّه لَيسَ فى الموْتِ مِنْ يَذْكُركَ ولا فى الَجَحِيم مَنْ يَعْترفُ لَك. تَعِبتُ فى تَنهُّدِى. أعُوِّمُ كلَّ لَيلةٍ سَرِيرِى، وبدُمُوعِى أبلُّ فِراشِى. تَعكَّرتْ مِنَ الغَضَبِ عَيْناىَ. هُرِمتُ مِنْ سَائِرِ أعْدائِى.

Depart from me, all ye that work iniquity; for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord has hearkened to my petition; the Lord has accepted my prayer. Let all mine enemies be put to shame and sore troubled: let them be turned back and grievously put to shame speedily. Alleluia.

أبْعُدوا عَنِّى يَاجَميعَ فَاعِلى الأثْمِ. لأنَّ الرَّبَّ قَد سَمعَ صَوتَ بُكائِى. الرَّبُّ سَمعَ تَضرُّعِىِ، الرَّبُّ لِصَلاتِى قَبِلَ، فَلْيَخزَ ولْيضْطَربَ جدِّا جَميعُ أعْدائى، ولْيرتدُّوا إلى ورَائِهِمْ بالخِزْى سَريعاً جِدِّا. هَلِّلُويا.

How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me? for ever? how long wilt thou turn away thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrows in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Look on me, hearken to me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep in death; lest at any time mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him: my persecutors will exult if ever I should be moved. But I have hoped in thy mercy; my heart shall exult in thy salvation. I will sing to the Lord who has dealt bountifully with me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high. Alleluia.

إلَى مَتَى يارَبُّ تَنْسانِى؟ إلَى الإنْقِضَاءِ؟ حَتَّى مَتّى تَصْرفُ وَجْهَك عنِّى؟ إلَى مَتَى أرْدُدْ هَذِهِ المشُورَاتِ فى نَفْسِى، وهَذِهِ الأوْجَاعُ فى قَلْبى النّهَارَ كُلَّه؟ إلَى مَتَى يَرْتفِعُ عَدوِّى عَلىَّ؟ أنْظُرْ وإسْتَجِبْ إلىَّ يَاربِّى وإلَهِى. أنَرْ عَيْنىَّ لِئلاَّ أنَامُ نَومَ الموْتِ، لِئلاَّ يَقولَ عَدوِّى إنِّى قَدْ قَويتُ عَليْهِ. الذينَ يُحْزنُونَنِى يَتهلَّلُونَ إنْ أنَا زَلَلْتُ. أمَّا أنَا فَعَلىِ رَحْمتكَ توَكَّلتُ، يبْتَهجُ قَلبِى بَخَلاصِكَ. أُسبِّحُ الرَّبَّ الَمحْسِن إلىَّ، وأُرتِّل لإسْمِ الرَّبِّ العَالِى. هَلِّلُويا.

Draw nigh, O God, to my help. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek my soul: let them be turned backward and put to shame, that wish me evil. Let them that say to me, Aha, aha, be turned back and put to shame immediately. Let all that seek thee exult and be glad in thee: and let those that love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. But I am poor and needy; O God, help me: thou art my helper and deliverer, O Lord, delay not. Alleluia.

اللَّهُمَّ إلْتَفتْ إلى مَعُونَتِى، يَاربُّ أسْرعْ وأعِنِّى. ليُخْزَ ويَخْجَل طَالبُو نَفْسى، وليرْتَدَّ إلى خَلْفٍ ويَخْجَل الذِينَ يبْتَغونَ لى الشَّرَّ. وليرْجعَ بالخِزْىِ سَريعاً القَائِلونَ لى نَعماً نعمَا. ولِيبْتَهجْ ويَفْرَح بكَ جَميعُ الذِينَ يلْتمسُونِكَ، ولِيَقَل فى كلِّ حينٍ مُحبُّو خَلاصِكَ لِيتعَظَّمَ الرَّبُّ. وأمَّا أنَا فمِسْكينٌ وفَقِيرٌ. اللَّهمَّ أعِنِّى. أنْتَ مُعينِى ومُخلِّصِى يَاربُّ فَلا تُبْطِئ. هَلِّلُويا.

O Lord, incline thine ear, and hearken to me; for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul, for I am holy; save thy servant, O God, who hopes in thee. Pity me, O Lord: for to thee will I cry all the day. Rejoice the sold of thy servant: for to thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul. For thou, O Lord, art kind, and gentle; and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee.

أَملْ يا رَبُّ أُذُنَك واسْتَمعْنى لأنّى مسْكينٌ وبائِسٌ أَنا. إحْفَظْ نَفْسي لأنّى بارٌّ، يا إلَهى خلِّصْ عَبْدِكَ المتَّكلَ عَليكَ. ارْحَمْنى يا رَبُّ لأنّى إليكَ أصْرخُ اليَومَ كلَّهُ. فَرِّحْ نَفْسَ عَبْدكَ لأنّى إليْكَ يا رَبُّ رَفَعتُ نَفْسى. لأنَّكَ أنْتَ يا رَبُّ صالِحٌ وَوَديعٌ، ورَحْمتُكَ كَثيرَةٌ لِكافَةِ المسْتَغيثينَ بكَ.

Give ear to my prayer, o Lord; and attend to the voice of my supplication. In the day of my trouble I cried to thee: for thou didst hear me. There is none like to thee, O Lord, among the god; and there are no works like to thy works. All nations whom thou hast made shall come, and shall worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wonders: thou art the only and the great God.

أنْصِتْ يا رَبُّ إلَى صَلاتى، واصْغِ إلَى صَوْتِ تَضرُّعى. فى يَومِ شدَّتى إليْكَ صَرَخْتُ فَأجَبْتنى. فَليسَ لَكَ شَبيهٌ فى الآلِهَةِ يا رَبُّ ولا مَنْ يَصْنَعُ كأعْمالِكَ. كُلُّ الأممِ الَّذينَ خَلقْتَهُم يَأْتونَ ويَسْجُدونَ أمامَكَ يا رَبُّ ويُمجِّدونَ إسْمَكَ. لأنَّكَ أنْتَ عَظيمٌ وصانِعُ العَجائِبِ، أنْتَ وحْدَكَ الإلَهُ العَظيمُ.

Guide me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice, that I may fear thy name. I will give thee thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart; and I will glorify thy name for ever. For thy mercy is great toward me; and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

إهْدِنى يا رَبُّ إلَى طَريقِكَ فَأسْلكَ فى حقِّكَ، ليَفْرحَ قَلبى عِنْد خَوفِه مِنْ إسْمِكَ. أعْتَرفُ لَكَ أيُّها الرَّبُّ إلَهى مِنْ كُلِّ قَلْبى، وأُمجِّدُ إسْمَكَ إلَى الأبدِ. لأنَّ رَحْمتَكَ عَظيمَةٌ عَلَىَّ، وقَدْ نَجَّيتَ نَفْسى مِنَ الجَحيمِ السُّفلىِّ.

O God, transgressors have risen up against me, and an assembly of violent men have sought my life; and have not set thee before them. But thou, O Lord God, art compassionate and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in mercy and true. Look thou upon me, and have mercy upon me: give thy strength to thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. Establish with me a token for good; and let them that hate me see it and be ashamed; because thou, O Lord, hast helped me, and comforted me. Alleluia.

اللَّهُمَّ إنَّ مُخالِفى النّاموسِ قَدْ قاموا عَلَىَّ، ومَجْمعُ الأعِزّاءِ طَلبوا نَفْسى، ولَمْ يَسْبقوا أنْ يَجْعَلوكَ أمامهمْ، وأنْتَ أيُّها الرَّبُّ الإلهُ أنْتَ رَؤوفٌ ورَحيمٌ، أنْتَ طَويلُ الرّوحِ وكَثيرُ الرَّحْمةِ وصادِقٌ. انْظُر إلَىَّ وارْحَمْنى. أَعْطِ عِزَّةً لِعبْدِكَ، وخَلِّص إبْنِ أمَتكَ، إصْنَع مَعى آيةً صالحَةً لِيرَى ذَلكَ مُبْغِضىَّ فَيخْزوْا. لأنَّكَ أنْتَ يا رَبُّ أعنْتَنى وعزَّيتَنى. هَلِّلُويا.

He that dwells in the help of the Highest, shall sojourn under the shelter of the God of heaven. He shall say to the Lord, Thou art my helper and my refuge: my God; I will hope in him. For he shall deliver thee from the snare of the hunters, from every troublesome matter. He shall overshadow thee with his shoulders, and thou shalt trust under his wings: his truth shall cover thee with a shield. Thou shalt not be afraid of terror by night; nor of the arrow flying by day; nor of the evil thing that walks in darkness; nor of calamity, and the evil spirit at noon-day. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou observe and see the reward of sinners.

السّاكِنُ فى عَوْنِ العَلىِّ، يَسْتَريحُ فى ظِلِّ إلهِ السَّماءِ. يَقولُ للرَّبِّ أنْتَ هُوَ ناصِرى ومَلْجَئى، إلَهى فأتَّكِلُ عَليهِ. لأنَّهُ يُنجّيكَ مِنْ فَخِّ الصَّيّادِ، ومِنَ الوَباءِ الخَطِرِ. فى وَسَطِ مَنْكبيْهِ يُظلِّلُكَ، وتَحْتَ جَناحَيهِ تَعْتَصمُ، عَدْلهُ يُحيطُ بِكَ كالسِّلاح. فَلا تَخْشَى مِنْ خَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ ولا مِنْ سَهْمٍ يَطيرُ في النَّهار، ولا مِنْ أمْرٍ يسْلكُ في الظُّلمَةِ، ولا مِنْ هَلاكٍ يفسد فى الظَّهيرَةِ. يَسْقطُ عَنْ يَساركَ أُلوفٌ وعَنْ يَمينكَ رِبْواتٌ، وأمّا أنْتَ فَلا يقْتَربُ إليْكَ الشَّرُّ بَلْ بِعَيْنيْكَ تُعايِنُ ومُجازاةُ الخُطاةِ تُبْصرُ.

For thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou, my soul, hast made the Most High thy refuge. No evils shall come upon thee, and no scourge shall draw night to thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up on their hands, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread on the asp and basilisk: and thou shalt trample on the lion and dragon. For he has hoped in me, and I will deliver him: I will protect him, because he has known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will hearken to him: I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him. I will satisfy him with length of days, and shew him my salvation. Alleluia.

لأنَّكَ أنْتَ يا رَبُّ رَجائى، جَعلْتَ العَلىَّ مَلْجأَكَ فلا تُصيبكَ الشُّرورُ، ولا تدْنو ضَرْبةً مِنْ مَسْكنِكَ. لأنَّهُ يوصى مَلائِكتَهُ بِكَ. ليَحْفظونكَ فى جَميعِ طُرقكَ. وعَلَى أيْديهِمْ يحْمِلونَكَ، لئَلاّ تَعْثُر بحَجَرٍ رِجْلُكَ. تَطأُ الأفْعَى ومَلِكَ الحيّات، وتَسْحقُ الأسَدَ والتِّنّينَ. لأنَّهُ تَعلَّقَ بى فَأنجّيه، أُرفِّعُهُ لأنَّهُ عَرفَ إسْمى. يدْعونى فأسْتجيب لَهُ، مَعهُ أَنا فى الشِّدَّة، أنْقِذهُ وأمَجِّدهُ ومِنْ طولِ الأيّامِ أشْبِعُهُ، وأُريهِ خَلاصى. هَلِّلُويا.

Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye peoples. For his mercy has been abundant toward us: and the truth of the Lord endures for ever. Alleluia.

سَبِّحوا الرَّبَّ يا جَميعَ الأممِ، ولتُبارِكهُ كافَّةُ الشُّعوب، لأنَّ رَحْمَتهُ قَدْ قَويَتْ عَليْنا، وحَقُّ الرَّبِّ يَدومُ إلَى الأبَدِ. هَلِّلُويا.

Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Let now the house of Israel say, that he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Let now the house of Aaron say, that he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.

اعْتَرفوا للرَّبِّ لأنَّهُ صالِحُ وأنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحْمَتَهُ. لِيَقُلْ بَيْتُ إسْرائيلَ إنَّهُ صالِحٌ وإنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحْمَتَهُ. لِيَقُلْ بَيْتُ هَرونَ إنَّهُ صالِحٌ وإنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحْمَتَهُ. لِيَقُلْ أتْقِياءُ الرَّبِّ إنَّهُ صالِحٌ وإنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحْمَتَهُ.

Let now all that fear the Lord say, that he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. I called on the Lord out of affliction: and he hearkened to me, so as to bring me into a wide place. The Lord is my helper; and I will not fear what man shall do to me. The Lord is my helper; and I shall see my desire upon mine enemies. It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to hope in the Lord, than to hope in princes. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. They completely compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. They compassed me about as bees do a honeycomb, and they burst into flame as fire among thorns: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them. I was thrust, and sorely shaken, that I might fall: but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my song, and is become my salvation. The voice of exultation and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord has wrought mightily. The right hand of the Lord has exalted me: the right hand of the Lord has wrought powerfully. I shall not die, but live, and recount the works of the Lord. The Lord has chastened me sore: but he has not given me up to death.

فى ضيقَتى صَرَخْتُ إلَى الرَّبِّ، فاسْتَجابَ لى وأخْرجَنى إلَى الرَّحْبِ. الرَّبُّ عَوْنى فَلا أخْشَى، ماذا يَصْنعُ بى الإنْسانُ؟ الرَّبُّ لى مُعينٌ، وأنا أرَى بأعْدائى. الإتِّكالُ عَلَى الرَّبِّ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الإتِّكالِ عَلَى البَشَرِ. الرَّجاءُ بالرَّبِّ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الرَّجاءِ بالرُّؤَساءِ. كُلُّ الأممِ أَحاطوا بى، وباسْمِ الرَّبِّ انْتَقَمتُ مِنْهُمْ. أَحاطوا بى احْتِياطًا واكْتَنَفونى وباسْمِ الرَّبِّ قَهَرْتُهُمْ. أَحاطوا بي مِثْلَ النَّحْلِ حَولَ الشَّهْدِ، والْتَهَبوا كَنارٍ فى شَوْكٍ، باسْمِ الرَّبِّ انْتَقمْتُ مِنْهُم. دُفِعْت لأَسْقُطَ والرَّبّ عَضدَنى. قُوَّتى وتَسْبِحَتى هُوَ الرَّبُّ، وقَدْ صارَ لى خَلاصاً. صَوْتُ التَّهْليلِ والخَلاصِ فى مَساكِنِ الأبْرارِ، يَمينُ الرَّبِّ صَنَعَتْ قُوَّةً، يَمينُ الرَّبِّ رَفَعَتْنى، يَمينُ الرَّبِّ صَنَعَتْ قُوَّةً فَلَنْ أَموت بَعْدَ، بَلْ أحْيا وأُحَدِّثُ بأعْمالِ الرَّبِّ، تأْديبًا أدَّبَنى الرَّبُّ. وإلَى الموْتِ لَمْ يُسلِمنى.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and give praise to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord: the righteous shall enter by it. I will give thanks to thee; because thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner. This has been done of the Lord; and it is wonderful in our eyes.

إفْتَحوا لى أبْوابَ البِرِّ، لِكَىْ أدْخُلَ فيها وأعْتَرف للرَّبِّ. هَذا هُوَ بابُ الرَّبِّ، والصِّدّيقونَ يَدْخُلونَ فيهِ. أعْتَرفُ لَكَ يارَبُّ، لأنَّكَ اسْتَجَبْتَ لى وكُنتَ لى مُخلِّصًا. الحَجَرُ الَّذى رَذَلهُ البَنّاؤونَ، هَذا صارَ رَأْسًا للزّاوِيةِ. مِنْ قِبَلِ الرَّبِّ كانَ هَذا وهُوَ عَجيبٌ فى أعْيُننا.

This is the day which the Lord has made: let us exult and rejoice in it. O Lord, save now: O Lord, send now prosperity. Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. God is the Lord, and he has shined upon us: celebrate the feast with thick branches, binding the victims even to the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I will give thee thanks: thou art my God, and I will exalt thee. I will give thanks to thee, for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Alleluia.

هَذا هُوَ اليَوْمُ الَّذى صَنَعَهُ الرَّبُّ، فَلْنَبْتَهجُ ونَفْرَحُ فيهِ. يا رَبُّ خَلِّصْنا، يارَبُّ سَهِّلْ سُبُلَنا، مُبارَكٌ الآتى باسْمِ الرَّبِّ، بارَكْناكُم مِنْ بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ، اللَّهُ الرَّبّ أضاءَ عَلَيْنا. رَتِّبوا عيداً بِمَوْكِبٍ حَتَّى قُرونِ المذْبَحِ، أنْتَ هُوَ إلَهى فأشْكُركَ، إلَهى أنْتَ فَأَرْفَعكَ. أعْتَرفُ لَكَ يا رَبُّ، لأنَّكَ إسْتَجَبتَ لى وصِرْتَ لى مُخلِّصًا. اشْكُروا الرَّبَّ فإنَّه صالحٌ وأنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحْمتُهُ. هَلِّلُويا.

Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that search out his testimonies: they will diligently seek him with the whole heart. For they that work iniquity have not walked in his ways. Thou hast commanded us diligently to keep thy precepts. O that my ways were directed to keep thine ordinances. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all thy commandments. I will give thee thanks with uprightness of heart, when I have learnt the judgments of thy righteousness. I will keep thine ordinances: O forsake me not greatly.

(١) طوباهُمْ الذينَ بلا عَيْبٍ في الطّريقِ، السّالكونَ في ناموسِ الرّبِّ. طوباهُمْ الذينَ يَحفظونَ شهاداتِهِ، ومنْ كُلِّ قُلوبهم يَطلبونَهُ. لأنّ صانعي الإثمَ لم يَهْوَوْا أن يَسلكوا في سُبلهِ. أنتَ أمَرتَ أن تُحفظ وَصاياكَ جداً، فيا ليْتَ طُرُقي تَستقيمُ إلى حفظِ حُقوقكَ. حينئذٍ لا أخزَى إذا تَطلّعت إلى جَميعِ وَصاياكَ. أشْكرُكَ يا رَبُّ باستقامَةِ قَلبي، إذ عَرفتُ أحْكام عَدلكَ. حقوقكَ أحفظُ، فلا تَرفُضني إلى الغايَةِ. (ذكصاسي فيلا نيثروبي ... المجد لك يا محب البشر)

Wherewith shall a young man direct his way? by keeping thy words. With my whole heart have I diligently sought thee: cast me not away from thy commandments. I have hidden thine oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thine ordinances. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate on thy commandments, and consider thy ways. I will meditate on thine ordinances: I will not forget thy words.

(٢) بماذا يُقوّمُ الشّابُ طَريقهُ؟ بحِفظهِ أقْوالكَ. من كُلِّ قَلبي طَلبتُكَ، فلا تُبعدْني عن وَصاياكَ. أخْفَيتُ أقوالكَ في قَلبي لكي لا أخْطئُ إليكَ. مُباركٌ أنتَ يا رَبُّ عَلّمني حُقوقكَ. بشفَتَيَّ أخْبرتُ بكُلِّ أحْكامِ فَمكَ، وفَرحتُ بطَريقِ شِهاداتِكَ كما بكُلِّ غِنَى. في وَصاياك أتَأمّلُ، وأتَفّهمُ في طُرقِكَ. بفَرائضِكَ ألْهَجُ، ولا أنْسى كلامكَ. Render a recompense to thy servant: so shall I live, and keep thy words. Unveil thou mine eyes, and I shall perceive wondrous things of thy law. I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. My soul has longed exceedingly for thy judgments at all times. Thou has rebuked the proud: cursed are they that turn aside from thy commandments. Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have sought out thy testimonies. For princes sat and spoke against me: but thy servant was meditating on thine ordinances. For thy testimonies are my meditation, and thine ordinances are my counsellors.

(٣) كافِئْ عَبدَكَ فأحيا، وأحفظُ أقوالَكَ. إكشِفْ عن عَينَيَّ فاُبصرُ عَجائبَ ناموسِكَ. غَريبٌ أنا في الأرضِ، فلا تُخْف عنى وَصاياكَ. إشْتاقتْ نَفسى إلى اشْتهاءِ أحْكامكَ في كُلِّ حين. إنّكَ انتَهرتَ المُتكبّرينَ المَلاعينَ، الذينَ حادوا عن وَصاياكَ. إنزَعْ عنى العارَ وَالخزْيَ، فإنّي لشهاداتِكَ ابْتَغيْتُ. جَلسَ الرّؤساءُ وتَقَاوَلوا علىَّ، أما عَبدكَ فكانَ يَهتمُّ بحُقوقِكَ لأنَّ شهاداتِكَ هي دَرسي، وحُقوقِكَ هي مَشورَتي. My soul has cleaved to the ground; quicken thou me according to thy word. I declared my ways, and thou didst hear me: teach me thine ordinances. Instruct me in the way of thine ordinances; and I will meditate on thy wondrous works. My soul has slumbered for sorrow; strengthen thou me with thy words. Remove from me the way of iniquity; and be merciful to me by thy law. I have chosen the way of truth; and have not forgotten thy judgments. I have cleaved to thy testimonies, O Lord; put me not to shame. I ran the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.

(٤) لَصقتْ بالترابِ نَفْسى، فأحْيني كَكلمَتكَ. أخْبرتُ بطُرقكَ، فاسْتَجبْ لي. عَلّمني حُقوقِكَ وطَريق عَدلكَ، فَهّمني فألْهجُ في عَجائبكَ. ذَبلتْ نَفْسى من الحُزن فثَبّتني في أقوالكَ، طَريق الظّلم أبعدْ عَنّى، وبناموسِكَ إرْحَمني. إنّي اختَرتُ طريقَ الحقِّ، وأحْكامكَ لم أنْس. لَصقتُ بشِهاداتكَ يا رَبُّ فلا تُخزني. في طَريق وَصاياكَ سَعيتُ عندما وَسعتَ قَلبي. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thine ordinances, and I will seek it out continually. Instruct me, and I will search out thy law, and will keep it with my whole heart. Guide me in the path of thy commandments; for I have delighted in it. Incline mine heart to thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes that I may not behold vanity: quicken thou me in thy way. Confirm thine oracle to thy servant, that he may fear thee. Take away my reproach which I have feared: for thy judgments are good. Behold, I have desired thy commandments: quicken me in thy righteousness.

(٥) ضَعْ لي يا رَبُّ ناموساً في طَريق حُقوقكَ، فأتبعهُ كُلّ حينٍ. فَهّمني فأبحثُ عن ناموسِكَ، وأحفظهُ بكُلّ قَلبي. إهْدني في سَبيل وَصاياكَ، فإنّي إيّاها هَوَيتُ. أملْ قَلبي إلى شِهاداتكَ لا إلى الظّلْمِ. أرْدُدْ عَينيَّ لئلا تُعاينا الأباطيلَ، وفى سُبُلِكَ أحْيِني. ثَبّتْ قَولكَ لعبدِكَ في خَوفِكَ، وانْزَعْ عنى العارَ الذى حَذّرتَ مِنه فإنّ أحْكامك حُلوةّ، ها قد اشْتهيتُ وَصاياكَ فأحْيني بعدلِكَ. And let thy mercy come upon me, O Lord; even thy salvation, according to thy word. And so I shall render an answer to them that reproach me: for I have trusted in thy words. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually, for ever and ever. I walked also at large: for I sought out thy commandments. And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings, and was not ashamed. And I meditated on thy commandments, which I loved exceedingly. And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments which I loved; and I meditated in thine ordinances.

(٦) لتأت علىَّ رَحمتكَ يا رَبُّ، وخَلاصِكَ كقَولِكَ فأجيبُ مُعَيِّريَّ بكلمةٍ. لأني اتّكلتُ على أقوالِكَ. فلا تَنْزع من فَمي قولَ الحَقِّ، لأنّى تَوكّلتُ على أحْكامِكَ. وأحفظُ شَريعَتُكَ في كُلِّ حينٍ، وإلى الأبَد وإلى مَدَى الدّهرِ. كُنتُ أسْلكُ في السِّعَة، لأنّى لوَصياكَ ابتَغيْتُ. وتَكلمّتُ بشهادتِكَ قُدّامَ المُلوكِ ولم أخْز، ولَهَجْتُ بوَصاياكَ التي أحبَبْتُها جداً. ورَفعتُ يَدىّ إلى وَصاياكَ التي وَدَدّتُها جداً، وتَأمّلتُ فرائضكَ. Remember thy words to thy servant, wherein thou hast made me hope. This has comforted me in mine affliction: for thine oracle has quickened me. The proud have transgressed exceedingly; but I swerved not from thy law. I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; and was comforted. Despair took hold upon me, because of the sinners who forsake thy law. Thine ordinances were my songs in the place of my sojourning. I remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, and kept thy law. This I had, because I diligently sought thine ordinances.

(٧) أذكُرْ لعبدِكَ كلامَكَ الذي جَعلتني عليهِ أتّكل. هذا الذي عَزّاني في مَذلّتي، لأنّ قَولكَ أحياني. إن المُتكبرين تَجاوَزوا النّاموس إلى الغايَةِ، أما أنا فعَنْ ناموسِكَ لم أمِلْ. تَذكّرتُ أحْكامِكَ يا رَبُّ منذُ الدّهرِ فتَعزّيتُ. الكآبةُ مَلكتْني من أجلِ الخُطاةِ الذينَ تَركوا ناموسِكَ. حُقوقِكَ كانتْ لي مَزاميٌر في مَوضعِ غُربَتي. ذَكرتُ في الليل اسْمِكَ يا رَبُّ وحَفَظتُ شَريعتكَ، هذا صارَ لي لأنّى طَلبتُ حُقوقِكَ. Thou art my portion, O Lord: I said that I would keep thy law. I besought thy favour with my whole heart: have mercy upon me according to thy word. I thought on thy ways, and turned my feet to thy testimonies. I prepared myself, (and was not terrified,) to keep thy commandments. The snares of sinners entangled me: but I forgot not thy law. At midnight I arose, to give thanks to thee for the judgments of thy righteousness. I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy commandments. O Lord, the earth is full of thy mercy: teach me thine ordinances.

(٨) نَصيبي أنتَ يا رَبّ، فقلتُ أنْ أحفظَ وَصاياكَ. تَرضَّيْتُ وَجهكَ بكُلِّ قَلبي، فارْحَمني كقَولِكَ. تَفكّرتُ في طُرُقكَ، فرَدَدْتُ قَدميَّ إلى شِهاداتكَ. أسْرَعتُ ولم أتَوانْ عن حفظِ وَصاياكَ. رباطاتُ الخُطاة الْتَفّت علىَّ، أما شَريعَتكَ فلم أنْسها. في نِصفِ الليلِ نهَضتُ لأشْكرُكَ على أحْكامِ عَدلِكَ. شريكٌ أنا لكُلّ الذينَ يَخافونَكَ وللحافِظين وَصاياكَ. من رَحمَتِكَ يا رَبُّ امتَلأت الأرْض، فعَلّمني عَدْلَكَ. Thou hast wrought kindly with thy servant, o Lord, according to thy word. Teach me kindness, and instruction, and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Before I was afflicted, I transgressed; therefore have I kept thy word. Good art thou, O Lord; therefore in thy goodness teach me thine ordinances. The injustice of the proud has been multiplied against me: but I will search out thy commandments with all my heart. Their heart has been curdled like milk; but I have meditated on thy law. It is good for me that thou hast afflicted me; that I might learn thine ordinances. The law of thy mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

(٩) خَيراً صَنعتَ مع عَبدكَ، يا رَب ّحسَب قَولكَ. صَلاحاً وأدَباً ومَعرفةً عَلّمني، لأني قد صَدّقتُ وَصاياكَ. قَبل أن أذلل أنا تَكاسَلتُ، والآن حَفظتُ كلامكَ. صالحٌ أنتَ يا رَبّ، فبصَلاحِكَ عَلّمني حُقوقكَ. كَثُرَ علىَّ ظُلم المُتكبّرين، وأنا بكُلّ قَلبي أبْحَثُ عن وَصاياكَ. تُحنْن مثل اللبن قلوبَهُم، وأنا لَهَجْتُ بناموسِكَ: خَيرٌ لي أنّكَ أذللتَني حتى أتَعلّمُ حُقوقِكَ. ناموس فَمِكَ خَيرٌ لي من ألوفِ ذَهبٍ وفِضَّةٍ. Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me: instruct me, that I may learn thy commandments. They that fear thee will see me and rejoice: for I have hoped in thy words. I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are righteousness, and that thou in truthfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray thee, thy mercy be to comfort me, according to thy word to thy servant. Let thy compassions come to me, that I may live: for thy law is my meditation. Let the proud be ashamed; for they transgressed against me unjustly: but I will meditate in thy commandments. Let those that fear thee, and those that know thy testimonies, turn to me. Let mine heart be blameless in thine ordinances, that I may not be ashamed.

(١٠) يَداكَ صَنعَتاني وجَبَلتاني. فهّمني فأتَعلّمُ وَصاياكَ. الذينَ يَخافونَكَ يُبصرونَني ويَفرَحونَ، لأني بكلامِكَ وَثقتُ. قد عَلمتُ يا رَبُّ أن أحْكامكَ عادلَةٌ، وبحقٍ أذْلَلتني. فلتأت علىَّ يا رَبّ رَحمتكَ لتُعزّيني، نَظير قَولكَ لعَبدِكَ. لتَأتني رَأفتكَ فأحْيا، لأنّ ناموسَكَ هو دَرسي. ليَخْز الُمتكبّرون لأنَهم خالَفوا الشَّرعَ علىَّ ظُلماً. وأنا كنتُ مُثابراً على وَصاياكَ. ليَرجع إلىَّ الذينَ يتّقونَكَ ويَعرفونَ عجائبَكَ. ولَيصِر قَلبي بلا عَيْب في عَدلكَ لكىْ لا أخزَى. My soul faints for thy salvation: I have hoped in thy words. Mine eyes failed in waiting for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me? For I am become as a bottle in the frost: yet I have not forgotten thine ordinances. How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment for me on them that persecute me? Transgressors told me idle tales; but not according to thy law, O Lord. All thy commandments are truth; they persecuted me unjustly; help thou me. They nearly made an end of me in the earth; but I forsook not thy commandments. Quicken me according to thy mercy; so shall I keep the testimonies of thy mouth.

(١١) تاقَتْ نَفْسى إلى خَلاصِكَ وعلى كلامِكَ تَوكّلتُ. كلَّتْ عَينايَ من النَظرِ إلى أقوالكَ، قائلاً: متى تُعزّيني؟! صرتُ مِثلَ زُقٍ فى جَليدٍ، ولحُقوقكَ لم أنْسْ. كم هيَ أيّامُ عَبْدِكَ؟ متى تُجرِى ليي حُكماً على الذينَ يَضطهدونَني؟ تَكلّمَ معي مُخالفو النّاموسَ بكلام هَذَيانٍ، ولكنْ ليسَ كناموسِكَ يا رَبّ. لأنَّ كُلُّ وَصاياكَ هيَ حَقٌ، وبظُلمٍ طَردوني فأعنّى. كادوا يفْنونَني من الأرضِ، أما أنا فلمْ أتْرُكْ وَصاياكَ. نَظير رَحمَتكَ أحْيني فأحفَظُ شِهادات فَمكَ. Thy word, O Lord, abides in heaven for ever. Thy truth endures to all generations; thou hast founded the earth, and it abides. The day continues by thy arrangement; for all things are thy servants. Were it not that thy law is my meditation, then I should have perished in mine affliction. I will never forget thine ordinances; for with them thou hast quickened me. I am thine, save me; for I have sought out thine ordinances. Sinners laid wait for me to destroy me; but I understood thy testimonies.  have seen an end of all perfection; but thy commandment is very broad.

(١٢) يا رَبّ كلمَتُكَ دائمَةٌ في السّموات إلى الأبَد، وإلى جيلٍ فجيلٍ حَقّكَ، أسّسْتَ الأرضَ فهيَ ثابتةٌ بأمْرك، والنّهارُ أيضاً ثابتٌ، لأنّ كُلّ الأشْياء مُتعبّدَة لكَ، ولو لم تَكنْ شَريعَتكَ تلاوَتي لهَلَكتُ حينئذٍ في مَذلّتي. إلى الدّهر لا أنسى وَصاياكَ، لأنّكَ بها أحْيَيْتَني يا رَبّ. لكَ أنا فخَلّصْني يا رَبّ، لأنى لوَصياكَ طَلبْتُ، إيّايَ انتَظرَ الخُطاةُ ليُهلكوني، ولشهاداتكَ فَهمتُ. لكُلِّ تَمامٍ رأيْتُ مُنتَهَى، أما وَصاياَك فواسِعةٌ جداً. How I have loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day. Thou hast made me wiser than mine enemies in thy commandment; for it is mine for ever. I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my medication. I understand more that the aged; because I have sought out thy commandments. I have kept back my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy words. I have not declined from thy judgments; for thou hast instructed me. How sweet are thine oracles to my throat! more so than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding by thy commandments: therefore I have hated every way of unrighteousness.

(١٣) مَحبوبٌ هوَ اسْمِكَ يا رَبّ فهو طولُ النّهارِ تِلاوتي. عَلّمتني وَصاياكَ أفضَل ُمن أعْدائي، لأنها ثابتَةٌ إلى الأبَدِ. أكثَر من الذين يُعلّمونَني فَهمتُ، لأنّ شِهاداتكَ هي دَرسي. أكثَر من الشّيوخِ فَهمتُ، لأنى طَلبتُ وَصاياكَ. من كُلّ طريقٍ خبيثٍ مَنعْتُ رِجْلَيَّ، لكىْ أحفظُ كلامكَ. عن أحْكامكَ لم أحِدْ، لأنّكَ وَضعتَ لي ناموساً. إنّ كلماتكَ حُلوَة في حَلْقى، أفضَلُ من العَسَلِ والشّهدِ في فَمي. من وَصاياكَ تَفطّنتُ، فلهذا أبْغَضتُ كُلّ طُرق الظّلم لأنّكَ وَضعتَ لي ناموساً. Thy law is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths. I have sworn and determined to keep the judgments of thy righteousness. I have been very greatly afflicted, O Lord: quicken me, according to thy word. Accept, I pray thee, O Lord, the freewill-offerings of my mouth, and teach me thy judgments. My soul is continually in thine hands; and I have not forgotten thy law. Sinners spread a snare for me; but I erred not from thy commandments. I have inherited thy testimonies for ever; for they are the joy of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform thine ordinances for ever, in return for thy mercies.

(١٤) مِصباحٌ لرجليَّ كلامكَ ونورٌ لسَبيلي. حَلّفتُ فأقَمتُ على حفظ أحْكام عَدلكَ. تَذلّلتُ جداً إلى الغايَةِ يا رَبّ أحْيني كقَولكَ. تَعهّدات فَمي باركْها يا رَبّ، وأحْكامكَ عَلّمني. نَفسى في يَديْكَ كُلّ حينٍ، وناموسِكَ لم أنْس. أخْفَى لي الخُطاةُ فَخاً، ولم أضِلّ عن وَصاياكَ. وَرثتُ شهاداتكَ إلى الأبَد، لأنّها بَهْجَة قَلبي. عَطفتُ قَلبي لأصْنَع بِرَّكَ إلى الأبَد، من أجلِ المُكافأةِ. I have hated transgressors; but I have loved thy law. Thou art my helper and my supporter; I have hoped in thy words. Depart from me, ye evil-doers; for I will search out the commandments of my God. Uphold me according to thy word, and quicken me; and make me not ashamed of my expectation. Help me, and I shall be saved; and I will meditate in thine ordinances continually. Thou hast brought to nought all that depart from thine ordinances; for their inward thought is unrighteous. I have reckoned all the sinners of the earth as transgressors; therefore have I loved thy testimonies. Penetrate my flesh with thy fear; for I am afraid of thy judgments.

(١٥) لمتُجاوزي النّاموس أبغَضتُ، ولناموسِكَ أحببتُ، لأنّكَ أنتَ مُعيني وناصري، وعلى كلامِك تَوكّلتُ. إبْعِدوا عَنّى أيّها الأشْرارُ فأفحَصُ عن وَصايا إلَهى. عَضّدني حسب قَولْك فأحْيا ولا تُخَيِّبْ رَجائي. أعنّى فأخْلُص، وأدرسُ في وَصاياكَ كُلّ حينٍ. رَذلتُ سائرَ الذينَ حادوا عن وَصاياكَ لأنّ فِكرهُم ظُلمٌ. عُصاة حَسَبت سائرَ خُطاة الأرضِ، فلهذا أحبَبتُ شِهاداتكَ في كُلّ حينٍ. سَمْر خَوفكَ في لحمى، لأني من أحْكامكَ جَزعتُ. I have done judgment and justice; deliver me not up to them that injure me. Receive thy servant for good: let not the proud accuse me falsely. Mine eyes have failed for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness. Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy, and teach me thine ordinances. I am thy servant; instruct me, and I shall know thy testimonies. It is time for the Lord to work: they have utterly broken thy law. Therefore have I loved thy commandments more than gold, or the topaz. Therefore I directed myself according to all thy commandments: I have hated every unjust way.

(١٦) قد أجْريتَ حُكماً وعَدلاً، فلا تُسَلّمني إلى الذينَ يَظلمونَني. كُنْ لعَبدِكَ كفيلاً فى الخَيْرِ لِِئلا يَجوزُ علىَّ المُتكبّرونَ. عَيناىَ قد ذَبلتا مِن انتظارِ خَلاصِكَ وقَول عَدلكَ. إصنَعْ مع عَبدكَ حسبَ رَحمتكَ، وحُقوقكَ عَلّمنى. عَبدُكَ أنا فَهّمنى فأعْرِف شِهاداتكَ. إنّهُ وَقتٌ يُعمَلُ فيهِ للرّبِّ، لأنّهم قد نَقَضوا ناموسَكَ. لأجْل هذا أحْبَبتُ وَصاياكَ أفضَل من الذّهَبِ والجَوهرِ. لأجْل هذا بإزاءِ كُلّ وَصاياكَ تَقَوَّمْتُ، وكُلّ طَريق ظلمٍ أبغَضتُ. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul has sought them out. The manifestation of thy words will enlighten, and instruct the simple. I opened my mouth, and drew breath: for I earnestly longed after thy commandments. Look upon me and have mercy upon me, after the manner of them that love thy name. Order my steps according to thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the false accusation of men: so will I keep thy commandments. Cause thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thine ordinances. Mine eyes have been bathed in streams of water, because I kept not thy law.

(١٧) عَجيبَةٌ هي شِهاداتكَ، لذلك حَفظّتْها نَفْسى. إعلانُ أقوالِكَ يُنيرُ لي، ويُفَهِّم الأطْفال الصّغار. فَتحْت فَمي واجتَذَبت لي روحاً، لأني لوَصاياكَ اشْتَقتُ. أنظُرْ إلىَّ وإرْحَمني كرَحمتكَ للذينَ يُحبّونَ اسْمكَ. قَوِّمْ خَطواتي كقَوْلكَ، فلا يَتسلّط علىَّ أيُّ إثمٍ. أنقِذني من ظُلمِ النّاسِ فأحفظُ وَصاياكَ. أضِئ بوجهِكَ على عَبدِكَ وعَلّمني حُقوقكَ. غاصَتْ عَينايَ في مَجارى المِياهِ لأنهم لم يَحفظوا ناموسِكَ. Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments. Thou has commanded righteousness and perfect truth, as thy testimonies. Thy zeal has quite wasted me: because mine enemies have forgotten thy words. Thy word has been very fully tried; and thy servant loves it. I am young and despised: yet I have not forgotten thine ordinances. Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is truth. Afflictions and distresses found me: but thy commandments were my meditation. Thy testimonies are an everlasting righteousness: instruct me, and I shall live.

(١٨) عادلٌ أنتَ يا رَبّ، وقضاؤكَ مُستقيمٌ. أوْصَيْتَ كثيراً بالعَدْلِ والحَقِ، اللذَيْنِ هُما شِهاداتكَ. غيرَةُ بَيْتِكَ أكلَتْني لأنّ أعْدائي نَسوا وصاياك. مُمحصٌ قَولكَ جداً، وعَبدكَ أحَبِّهُ. صَغيرٌ أنا ومَرذولٌ وحُقوقكَ لم أنْس. عَدلُكَ حقٌ هو إلى الأبَدِ، وكلامُكَ حقٌ هو. ضيقٌ وشدّةٌ أدْركاني، ووَصاياكَ هي دَرْسي. عادلةٌ هي شِهاداتكَ إلى الأبَدِ، فَهّمني فأحْيا. I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord: I will search out thine ordinances. I cried to thee; save me, and I will keep thy testimonies. I arose before the dawn, and cried: I hoped in thy words. Mine eyes prevented the dawn, that I might meditate on thine oracles. Hear my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy; quicken me according to thy judgment. They have drawn nigh who persecuted me unlawfully; and they are far removed from thy law. Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy ways are truth. I have known of old concerning thy testimonies, that thou hast founded them for ever.

(١٩) صَرخْتُ من كُلّ قَلبي فاسْتَجبْ لي يا رَبّ، إني أبْتَغى حُقوقِكَ. صَرخْتُ إليكَ فخَلّصني، لأحفَظُ شِهاداتكَ. تَقدّمتُ قَبلَ الصبّحِ وصَرخْتُ وعلى كلامِكَ تَوكّلتُ. سَبقتْ عَيْنايَ وَقت السَّحَر لألْهَجُ في جَميعِ أقوالِكَ. فاسْمَعْ صَوتي يا رَبّ كرَحمتِكَ، وبحسبِ أحكامِكَ أحْيِني. إقْتَربَ بالإثمِ الذينَ يَطردونَني، وعن ناموسِكَ ابتَعَدوا. قَريبٌ أنتَ يا رَبّ وكُلّ وَصاياكَ حقٌ هيَ. مُنذُ البدْء عَرفتُ من شِهاداتكَ أنّكَ إلى الدّهرِ أسَّسْتَها. Look upon mine affliction, and rescue me; for I have not forgotten thy law. Plead my cause, and ransom me: quicken me because of thy word. Salvation is far from sinners: for they have not searched out thine ordinances. Thy mercies, O Lord, are many: quicken me according to thy judgment. Many are they that persecute me and oppress me: but I have not declined from thy testimonies. I beheld men acting foolishly, and I pined away; for they kept not thine oracles. Behold, I have loved thy commandments, O Lord: quicken me in thy mercy. The beginning of thy words is truth; and all the judgments of thy righteousness endure for ever.

(٢٠) أنْظُرْ إلى مَذلّتي وانْقذْني فإنّي لم أنْس ناموسك. أحْكم لي في دَعوايَ ونَجّنى، من أجل كلامِكَ أحْيني. بَعيدٌ هو الخَلاصُ عن الخُطاةِ لأنّهم لم يَطلُبوا حُقوقِكَ. رَأفتُكَ كثيرَةٌ جداً يا رَبّ، حَسب أحْكامِكَ أحْيِني. كثيرون هم الذينَ يَضطهِدونَني ويُحزِنونَني، وعن شِهاداتِكَ لم أجْنحْ. رأيْتُ الذينَ لا يَفهَمونَ فاكتَأبْتُ لأنّهم لأقْوالِكَ لم يَحفظوا. أنظُرْ يا رَبّ فإني أحْبَبتُ وَصاياكَ، برَحمتِكَ يا رَبّ أحْيِني. بدءُ كلامِكَ حَقٌ وإلى الأبدِ كُلّ أحْكامِ عَدلكَ. Princes persecuted me without a cause, but my heart feared because of thy words. I will exult because of thine oracles, as one that finds much spoil. I hate and abhor unrighteousness; but I love thy law. Seven times in a day have I praised thee because of the judgments of thy righteousness. Great peace have they that love thy law: and there is no stumbling-block to them. I waited for thy salvation, O Lord, and have loved thy commandments. My soul has kept thy testimonies, and loved them exceedingly. I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies; for all my ways are before thee, O Lord.

(٢١) الرّؤساءُ اضطهَدوني بلا سَبَبٍ، ومن أقوالِكَ جَزعَ قَلبي. أبتَهجُ أنا بكلامكَ، كمن وَجَدَ غَنائم كثيرةٍ. أبْغَضّتُ الظّلمَ ورَذَلتُهُ، أما ناموسكَ فأحْبَبتُهُ. سَبْعُ مَرّاتٍ في النّهارِ سَبّحتُكَ على أحْكام عَدلكَ. فليكنْ سَلاٌم عَظيمٌ للذينَ يُحبّون اسْمك، وليسَ لهمْ شَكٌ. تَوَقّعتُ خَلاصِكَ يا رَبّ، ووَصاياكَ حَفظتُها. حَفظتْ نَفسى شِهاداتِكَ وأحبْتها جداً. حَفظتُ وَصاياكَ وشِهاداتكَ، وكُلّ طُرقى أمامكَ يا رَبّ. Let my supplication come near before thee, o Lord; instruct me according to thine oracle. Let my petition come in before thee, O Lord; deliver me according to thine oracle. Let my lips utter a hymn, when thou shalt have taught me thine ordinances. Let my tongue utter thine oracles; for all thy commandments are righteous. Let thine hand be prompt to save me; for I have chosen thy commandments. I have longed after thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my meditation. My soul shall live, and shall praise thee; and thy judgments shall help me. I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I have not forgotten thy commandments. Alleluia.

(٢٢) فَلْيَدْن تَوسّلي قُدّامكَ يا رَبُّ، كقَولكَ فَهّمني. فَلْتدخلْ طُلبتي إلى حَضرتِكَ يا رَبُّ، ككَلمتِكَ أحْيِني. تَفيضُ شفتايَ السبح، إذا ما عَلّمتَني حُقوقكَ. لساني يُجيبُ بأقوالِكَ، لأنّ جَميع وَصياكَ عادلّة. لتَكنْ يَدكَ لخَلاصي لأنّى اشْتَهيتُ وَصاياكَ. إشْتقتُ إلى خَلاصِكَ يا رَبُّ، وناموسكَ هو تِلاوَتي. تَحيا نَفسى وتُسبّحُكَ. وأحْكامُكَ تُعينَني. ضَللتُ مِثل الخَروف الضّالِ، فاطْلُبْ عَبدَكَ فإنّي لوَصاياكَ لم أنْسْ. هَلِّلُويا.
